Who woulda thought sipping tea would could lead to an epic battle against the forces of the undead? Not us, surely, but here we are.
In Teatime Samurai, you'll journey to ancient Japan, where your old dojo has been overrun by a fabulous army of zombies, skeletons, and assorted monsters from Japanese folklore. Your host? None other than the great Nashisama, the man who taught you everything you know about slinging fireballs and drinking tea.
- Twin-Stick Madness: Get ready to blast your way through hordes of enemies in classic arcade action. Dust off those dusty thumbs, it's arcade time, baby.
- Couch Co-op: Party started and looking for co-op action? Look no further than Teatime Samurai. Up to four players can join the fray on the same screen.
- Retro Vibes: With hand drawn retro pixel art graphics, this game is a nostalgic sendup to the golden age of arcade shooters – but with substantially more tea.
- Japanese Folklore Fun: From mischievous yokai to oversized oni, the enemies you'll face are straight out of Japanese mythology. It's like a very shoddy history lesson, where the teacher gets confused half way through and starts talking about magic pizza.
- Legendary Boss Battles: Face off against monstrous bosses. Martial arts champions, Oni Sorcerers, and Blues Keyboardists from 80s jam bands all await you.
- Two Fabulous Game Modes: In Classic Mode you'll dive into relentless action and kill as many enemies as possible, facing down six bosses. Rack up your score and etch your name onto the high score board, proving yourself the ultimate Teatime Samurai. In Defend the Shrine Mode you'll hold up against endless waves of enemies hell-bent on destroying your shrine. Strategize, defend, and prove your skills in this survival challenge.

What can I say about Teatime Samurai that hasn't already been said about the wheel, penicillin, or the iPhone.... this is one of the greatest things of all time. My wife and I would argue constantly over who got to play our retro arcade style twin-stick shooter arcade cabinet. It's one of those things NO ONE wants to miss! You know, the old 'I spent the entire day rearing OUR children, maybe YOU can give in a little and let me play our retro arcade style twin-stick shooter arcade cabinet?' ... The minute I heard our 6-year-old girl in her bedroom, re-enacting our daily retro arcade twin-stick shooter arcade cabinet fight with her Barbie dolls, I knew we had to make a change. "Teatime Samurai" is a laughably badly made 2D retro pixel top down twin stick shooter with a vague "tea time in ancient Japan" theme that doesn't make sense and certainly doesn't help the terrible delivery. The most enjoyable part of this game is the thought that the developer genuinely thought people would give him money for this. What do you do in the game? Really bad twin stick shooting, that's it. Shallow and pointless. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers.
