TELLURICENE

Beautiful and agonising. Tragic and hopeful. It is a love letter to growth, change and healing. It is a celebration of the ability to bridge the gulf between the self and the other. We are all struggling outsiders who gain the most from connection and consideration. Even in little things, I loved it; it is so rare I can choose to identify with "they" and create an avatar who even resembles me in the slightest, tired eyes and all. I want to share this feeling and this game with others. I keep think I'll end on a joke and go "flower pretty" but, man, this game was just really good for my heart and I want others to experience that.

Review contains spoilers Pros - Top-tier presentation: the art is beautiful, the animation is seamless, the sound matches the story well - The diegetic mechanics to "customize" your love interest were great: they feel immersive and there's a sense of mystery for which form you'll get Cons - The final scene with VERA *really* fell through for me. It was jarring to see a new mechanic and interface so late in the game, plus having a "logic battle" at the end felt too cheesy for the tone of that scene. It also felt inelegant to have the protagonist state the morals of the story in one scene at the end - I think it would have hit better for me if the moral questions were left up to the reader to think about since the game already presents them throughout the story. - There are a lot of visual glitches in the second half of the game, but they're not game-breaking Overall I liked the game a lot and had a good time with it!
