Dating Depression
Have you ever wanted to experience the stress and disappointment of dating apps, except none of the people you're talking to are real? Well now you can! All jokes aside, this game is a weird one. It's a visual novel style game, a genre of game that I've recently fallen in love with, but with the interface of a cell phone and dating app. You swipe left or right to match or ignore other profiles, and try to get 10 dates before you're removed from the dating site (And the world you're on, apparently). The art design is very basic and straight forward, and that's okay. The dates you get to have are backed by a calming track, and actually set the mood pretty well overall. The characters artwork is goofy in an endearing sort of way. It's a pretty pleasing game to look at, and the interactions with the UI feel pretty good. Where lies the issue I have with this game? Well, here's the thing. Many people have made similar comments like this, but this game is sort of eerie in how close it can feel to an actual dating app. The kinds of crazies, lack of responses and overall weirdnesses you've encountered on dating apps is here. If you get invested in story like I…

The game had an interesting concept but does not last. It's basically a simulation of real dating apps and it's done well in that regard. It's not a 'dating sim' in the traditional sense - quite the opposite actually. it's real life dating which means you are never getting to date the person. Main problems: - It's mrketed as 'monster dating' but the aliens behave exactly like human and there's nothing monster like about them except for the profile pictures. The stories are mundane and boring. - The character stories are too short and bland and not expanded the all. The ones with ending are a little longer but not much better. the designs were shallow, passable at best. The short dates were much worse. It's boring. - The endings weren't fleshed out at all - extremely boring and short. - No freedom in expressing self at all. Dialog options are extremely limited. Can't play this game for more than 90 mins. It's cute, but it felt like a demo. Not worth money imo it's more like the quality of a free project on itch.io

A weird but cute little game. A bit rough around the edges, but it prettty much gives you what it says it will.

I liked the concept and went in It’s really good! The writing is excellent and the dating app is quite immersive. I actually felt like I was still in the game while chatting on an app just after 😅 Characters don’t feel stereotypical, and are really interesting to talk too. Some are asses, some are cautious or don’t communicate well, … So good to see many personnalities and their faults, as well as random interactions that go well or don’t When you start to like someone and they finally prefer to be friends, or ghost you… It’s great

i originally thought this didn't have an ending, but it turns out you're not promised a good ending (which i think earns it points). very story rich and so much replayability! can't wait to find so much more love
