About The Abandoned

The Abandoned is a short First Person Horror experience where you will solve puzzles and use your abilities to blast through waves of enemies while you uncover the story one chapter at a time.

Chapter 1 : Awakening is included with this purchase of The Abandoned, with the remaining three chapters being released as DLC as they are developed. There are content updates and extra features being added on a regular basis during the evolution of the game.

The player assumes the role of our main character, let's leave him unnamed for now. He is a young man, recently married, but still with a bit of a wild side. After a long weekend night out with a few friends he awakens to find himself on an old dirt path deep in some remote forest. After cursing his friends for dumping him out here, he realizes that the real problem is figuring out where here is and how to get back home.

You will use your new found abilities to blast away waves of supernatural enemies while finding the clues to where you are and the means to get back home.
You will look for keys and items to unlock new rooms in order to progress the story. There are plenty of options to customize your experience, including a darkness level and the ability to disable the enemies if that's your style. You can have a short enjoyable, atmospheric, escape room style game with the enemies turned off.

https://youtu.be/BzeBX1enkwg I don't think I can recommend the game. It started out a little buggy but overall it just wasn't very scary. It was also super dark in the hallways and no flashlight so it was difficult to see. I also couldn't get passed the second locked door. I'm not sure if it bugged but there are pretty much no instructions on what to do so you end up just stumbling through and I ended up getting stuck. I personally just don't think this is worth the price. If you want to see some game play you can check out my video above. *Edit* After watching HecticSherlock's play through I realized my game did bug out since I didn't grab the key in the red room and it didn't re-spawn when I went back in. After fully playing through the game I still stand by my review above.

I don't necessarily know how to feel about this game just yet. There's no direction and seemingly no plot, and it feels more like an escape game than a story-driven series. But I digress; hopefully, the developer has some cool things in store for the other chapters in this story that will be available as DLC. For now, I'll leave you with my gameplay below.
