About The August Before: Chapter One

‎The August Before is a meditative narrative 3D puzzle about cleaning up, sorting out and packing up your life before moving on. In Chapter One, play through the first snippets of the story and get acquainted with your room, and the people in your life.
Teenage love, first losses, and notes from friends are scattered in the corners: explore the details of the heroine's life, pack up the life you will take with you, and say goodbye - if you can.
And remember - you can't take the past with you.
All is well that ends well — and all is well that ends.

Features

Clean up the room before leaving, find the necessary items, and pack them in a suitcase.
Keep track of the diary, change the music, arrange the objects, and try to remember not to disturb the dark corners of the room.
Sort through the items and appreciate the resulting order and the details of the story that unfolds in the process.
Explore the chaos and enjoy your freedom to drag, erase, disassemble, break, and fix things in the highly interactive space.

Love the aesthetic, music, and the way the history of the room and its occupant slowly reveals itself as you pick up bits and pieces of the life lived here. Nostalgic and bittersweet vibes that I can't wait to see more of in the full version.

Very nice, cozy game. It does have Life is Strange vibe, which I love. I finished first chapter and can't wait to play more. Story is interesting, emotional and just beautifully made.

Cute little prologue game! It's a fun little organizing game with smooth gameplay and movement, along with being easy to play. It's got an interesting narrative so it's not just organizing and this is just a glimpse at the full game. If you like organizing/cleaning, cozy games, or even just relate to packing for the future -- you should check it out!

i adore this particular storytelling technique of using things as a point of conversation. the things that we own in our most intimate spaces say a lot about our life and our experiences. this game reminds me a lot about how unpacking made me feel but i think this game was more relatable as i tend to spend more hours on cleaning due to me finding lost memories and having the urge to reminisce, relive, and sometimes get hurt again trying to remember. art style of the game is addicting, giving major life is strange vibes (i guess they took a lot of inspiration from that because of the pricefield poster, the polaroids, and the mixtape that sounds a lot like their theme song). and i just love cleaning up, it's so satisfying to see things back in order but this game also leaves a bittersweet note in my heart because i too want to move out and move on. good game for sentimentals like me who are rendered paralyzed by their memories

It was good ngl I liked the style and the song from life is strange but I played it 2 times already and 2 times something bugged in the floor and I couldn't get a achievement. I will try the third time because it bothers me to have 7/8 achievements but overall its a good game.
