The Bloodline

I think this game has a bunch of interesting mechanics and is honestly a good Skyrim copy-cat at it's core. The main thing that irritates me the most and prevents me from seriously losing myself in it is the physics. The way the grapple, climbing, jumping, wallrunning, and even swimming work all just feel wrong 50% of the time. When it works it's fun and I enjoy it, but it breaks too frequently. When it's a chore to traverse the world that is pretty well made, it kills my desire to grind. Yourself and enemies also randomly just spring jump like it's Halo 2 lol. Once that's adjusted and fixed I know for a fact I will play it a lot more. One dude has done a lot and that's the only thing that's holding me back from saying this game is beyond worth it.

Bought this game because it was advertised as 'inspired by Mount And Blade and Skyrim'. I havent played a ton, but it definitely fits that. Youre able to wander around areas solo, getting magic weapons and spells, etc. Very fantasy rpg-esque. But then there are also wandering enemies you can run into that start battles when encountered, just like warband. Actual gameplay is pretty fun, but when it comes to deeper mechanics it was still struggling. Like on the overworld map I would move to a specific location i wanted to go, but then I'd exit to first person and be in some random empty place that looked like it was supposed to be a battlefield. That was very annoying. And in general learning the mechanics of the game required a lot of pausing gameplay to sit and read. The tutorial taught the basics of controlling your own character pretty well, not much else. Again, gameplay is good, mechanics still need polish. I'm also someone who stopped gaming years ago and is only just getting back in, so my ability to comprehend basic in game controls and functions is pretty rusty. I really enjoy *The Bloodline* and think it has a lot of potential. However, there are several technical and design issues that I think could be improved. ## Technical Issues **1. Clothing randomly changes color** Some clothing changes color by itself. For example, my black mage outfit sometimes turns blue. Changing the outfit and equipping it again fixes it temporarily. This seems like a visual/material bug. **2. Clothing remains visible during transformations** Some special clothing items remain visible when transforming, for example when becoming a meteor through Pyromancy or a Phoenix through Druidism. Equipment incompatible with the new form should probably be hidden automatically. **3. Main quests can become permanently broken** The tutorial quest can break if you complete some tutorials before accepting the main tutorial quest. I completed some combat and climbing tutorials beforehand, and the quest does not recognize them as completed. I now have the tutorial quest permanently stuck in my quest log. A good solution would be either allowing players to **restart quests**, or making quests recognize activities that were already completed before accepting them. --- ##…
