Alright, let's talk about this game. First off, it's bugged. second level below the hanging tree the character gets stuck. Second, the grammar is so bad that it takes away from whatever message there is. There are two options in the menu: Full screen which does nothing. then Blood: ON. When you press it a pretentious message comes up saying Christ didn't get the option or something like that. There is no speed up option to get through this painfully slow game, and no, it's not painful in the way Christ suffered because Christ is not mentioned from start point to the bug that halts all progress. This game hurts the mission of trying to lead others to Salvation.

The Bloody Cross is a very different kind of horror game, and I was immediately interested in how openly it tackles themes of sin, guilt and redemption. I play as a wanderer climbing a mountain that represents moral achievement, only to repeatedly run into temptation and failure along the way. I liked how the game uses such a simple journey to explore some very heavy ideas. The gameplay is mostly built around moving through the world, interacting with characters and dealing with short action sections. I enjoyed the mixture because the game never feels like it is trying to become a traditional action game. The combat supports the journey rather than becoming the main attraction, which lets the story remain the focus. The religious themes are impossible to miss, but I actually think the game benefits from committing fully to them. The story directly engages with Christian ideas about forgiveness and redemption, while characters and events are used as symbolic parts of the larger journey. I liked that it takes its subject matter seriously instead of treating it as simple background decoration. The presentation is probably my favorite part. The hand drawn look gives the game a rough…
