About The Broken Seal
Welcome! We've spent the last couple years to create this vast, immersive and magical world and we’re incredibly excited to finally share it with you! Welcome to "The Broken Seal!"
We were tired of all the short, demo-like VR experiences out there and set out to design a full, feature-rich VR game with a level of depth you probably haven’t seen in VR before!
In this world, experience immersion on an entirely new level as you can release magic using your own voice by speaking or shouting the spells you cast!
Stay tuned for even more content! Though the game has left EA, we’re still committed to its continued development. We are working on adding new, exciting features such as more magic spells, new systems, new areas, more monsters, and so much more!
Just in: We wanted a way to let gamers without VR to enjoy questing too, so we created an all new Non-VR mode. Now anyone can join together in this adventure to help rid the world of evil!
The ancient seal has been broken, the powers of darkness are devouring everything in the world. Now the world desperately needs a HERO to save it from impending catastrophe.
◆More than 40 hours of game content: A complete and fully featured game with levels of depth that’s deeper than just about every VR game you've experienced so far.
◆ Voice control: Use your own voice to cast spells! Forget hunting through menus - experience a new level of immersion as you wield magic in a much more realistic way than just pressing a button! It’s truly a unique and magical experience that we’re excited to share with you!
◆ Fantastic physics: we worked hard to make battling with different weapon types feel right in VR. Utilizing the Unreal Engine 4, we’ve been able to create a combat system that really lets you feel like you're fighting! In a genre that’s usually defined as “hack and slash,” now your questing actually requires real skill on a level that wasn’t possible before VR.
◆ Multiplayer mode. You are not alone in this world. Try playing multiplayer with your friends or summon pets to fight along side with you. Now you can even join up with non-VR players to fight in this epic quest!
◆ Dozens of various spells: Each spell has exciting, unique characteristics that evolve in different ways as you progress throughout the game.
◆ Looting: Get weapons and equipment as well as other kinds of loot during your battles and quests. Use what you find to strengthen and upgrade yourself to better fight the coming darkness!
◆ Vast, epic environments: Battle your way through forests, ancient relics, deserts, and snow covered mountains as you fight to cleanse the world of evil.
We’re a small team, but we’re extremely dedicated to this project. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! [email protected]

The Broken Seal is a game designed from the ground up for virtual reality, supporting the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, but now allows “pancake” (non-VR players) to join up too!

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Two notes: First, I'm playing this in Flat mode. Second, the low play time is due to the game crashing if I'm connected to the internet, so Steam doesn't record the hours I've played. This is a problem in the engine, not the game itself. This game is a lot of fun. That's probably the most important bit. But how can a game where you shout, "Bite them, ice teeth!" and dozens of icicles shoot out, freezing your enemies, not be fun? Can you really say, "I am the ripper of burning sky, guiding the visitor from the end", watch your enemies get hit in the face with a freaking meteor and not enjoy yourself? Y'know, outside the surprisingly low damage this spell actually deals.... But, you might consider this a downside: That is ALL you do. Go place, kill thing. Fireball, frost flower, meteor. Rinse, and repeat. There are quests, but they're all "go place, kill thing" as well. And most of the time, you're completely OP too. Most enemies have melee attacks, and the few that have bows and arrows fire slow enough that you can easily dodge them. So you can basically whail on them all from a safe distance, and they usually die a couple steps before they reach you. The occasional boss fight can …1 found this helpful
Can't say how good it might have been as it crashed on launch every time,
Needs better background music, snap turning
games real fun kinda rough in terms of graphics but real nice speaking phrases to cast spells is a real cool gimmick
So to start off, Yes, this game does not receive anymore updates from the developers, BUT this game is a HUGE BLAST! I just finished chapter 1 (took 5 hours btw) and there are still 3 more chapters to go. So yeah there is PLENTY to do. Just annoying saying the same spell over and over again. Try not to be in a party or around others when playing this game LOL! SPELLS: To start off, each chapter has 5 bosses you have to kill in order to progress to the next chapter. Each time you kill a new boss you receive a new spell. Each spell has its own line/phrase you have to say in order to cast . i.e I am the ripper of the burning sky (part 1) to guide the visitor to the end (part 2). The first spell you get is fireball. The skills do have a shortcut/phrase you can say, for example, fireball you can just say fire or chain lightning, you can just say, chain. So on and so fourth. The spells are pretty OP, BUT still fun to use. MOVEMENT/CONTROLS: Movement is alright. There is no sprint but instead a dash that uses 10 mana. So in the beginning you get 10 dashes and the mana takes a while to recharge till you get the spell, Give Me Mana. Wish there was a sprint function but to get to the…
