The Burst is a smashing high-speed shooter in VR with intense movement and gunplay.
The story takes place on a desert prison planet, where convicts are preparing for rebellion.
You are sent to eliminate the infamous warlord.
Use everything at your disposal to restore order and escape.
An exciting combination of explosive parkour movement, grappling hook, vehicles and flesh-rending weapons will let you go absolutely crazy. Let your creativity run wild!
Armory: More than ten different weapons to assist you in your mission. Carry them behind your back or swap them on the fly with the help of your grappling hook!
Enemies: Different factions - different rules. From the wild and barbaric Shelldogs to the ruthless and pyromaniac Boomboys and everything in between, you will never find a shortage of crazies to fight.
Movement: Ditch the boring stick movement. Use your hands and body to experience the full range of parkour movement. Jump, climb, slide, wall run and rail surf your way across the desolate landscape of Damag!
Mirage: Your best friend in the deserts of Damag - the first ever reverse trike in VR. A driving experience you will never forget!
Grappling Hook: More than just a hook! Now it's also an actual combat tool that helps you control the flow of battle. Use it to grab weapons from afar, disarm your opponents, throw them into pits and unleash environmental destruction!
Locations: Harsh deserts, deserted outposts, abandoned cities overrun by warring gangs - the true experience of a world collapsed after a nuclear catastrophe.
Story and Lore: An exciting and thrilling story on the surface, a vast lore underneath. Whether you want to dive deep or just touch the tip of the iceberg, you won't be disappointed.

This game is ultimately enjoyable but it has a few minor issues and 2 major issues... The first major issue is that the voice actors have pretty thick accents and it's hard to understand what's being said half the time. The story isn't that complicated but with most of it being delivered by comms chatter and audio cassette recordings, it can be confusing just because you can't understand half of it. There is a lot of text lore in the journal that can keep you informed, if you're interested, but if you don't read it, you might be lost. The other major issue is that this game doesn't really get good until the latter half. The first half of the game is rather dull with large driving sections that are empty, combat that's literally just a shooting gallery of like 4 enemies that don't move and just a whole lot of nothing interesting. You'll be asking yourself why the level design is so boring, why the combat is so simplistic, why they don't add this or that to make things more interesting, etc. But the second half of the game fixes all those issues. The level design is more interesting, the combat encounters are more dynamic (they're still not amazing but a marked improvement over…2 found this helpful
The overall jank is passable, but the combat and enemy AI feels horrid unfortunately. The terrible combat makes it tough to enjoy.2 found this helpful
Overall this game sucks and is a waste of your time. Try the demo, imagine how a game could implement these mechanics, then go play Half Life 2 again. This is before the age of AI coding really took off but the entire game feels like it's "vibecoded". Everything feels like it was tested in a vacuum, and none of it meshes together. There are three main elements to the game, movement, combat and driving. Movement being the least egregious and combat being the worst offender. There is a story but it's non-sensical and you have to turn on subtitles because the vocal mix is so bad you'll miss half of what's said, and the other half is muffled because they thought everyone should sound like they're talking through a mask or over a bad radio. On top of weird flashback sequences and some sort of "choice" element to the game's story, there's nothing coherent to track. Because the game is so annoying you have little care left for the story and world building. Something they couldn't keep consistent as I had the wrong faction of bad guys spawn in a couple times during the last third of the game in some outposts. I got an achievement for helping out a faction, had no idea how I got it …
It's too bad the dev studio had to close due to lack of funding in December 2024. With a little more time and resources to polish, this could have been one of the best single player VR campaigns to date. It's Half-Life 2 meets Mad Max--gnarly gangs vying for power on a heinous hellscape of a desert planet as well as more tech-heavy corporate goons trying to stop the mad man that is the protagonist, Hornet. The story and voice acting is serviceable. You can find notes and tapes (sometimes hard to hear) to flesh out the world. Mobility options include sprinting, wall-running, vaulting and using grappling gloves. Besides sandy dunes, subterranean caves and tunnels and craggy mountainous areas, there are also dilapidated compounds, dead cities and industrial complexes to traverse through. You'll never go without a firearm as the upgrade-able pistol you wield cannot be lost and will teleport back to your person when dropped. If you run out of ammo, you are doing something wrong as there are supply boxes in abundance. The game also will supply you with the ammo type of whatever weapons you are carrying. Besides, the pistol you can also stow a weapon on each shoulder as well as four gr…
One of the best VR games I've played. Very fun campaign so far, great vibes. Gun handling is a bit janky and gets some getting used to. Some bugs here and there. Horrible marketing, I had to find out about this game from some random Reddit post.
I wanted to like this game, I liked the grappling mechanics and movement... but most combat required staying back and shooting from afar. There was a lot of jank, some really frustrating driving parts. I couldn't bring myself to finish the game.
