This is one of those games that you encounter on a random night scrolling through heaps of garbage on your steam page or through a discovery queue, however you may find it. It has overwhelmingly positive reviews and it kind of just draws your eye since that's pretty rare on steam. It's fairly cheap, so chances are you'll just get it and put it on your backlog if this seems like your kind of game. I implore you HEAVILY to just play it, and if you haven't already bought it then do that. There are rarely games, the only other one I can think of being Disco Elysium, that depict a state of complete decay and misery so well. Everything is a fight, from getting up, to making coffee, to taking a shower without losing it. It's always a struggle, and for many, including myself, it doesn't end for a long time. It takes all the gall in the world to stick around day after day and deal with your routine, even if it sucks like ♥♥♥♥ and decide not to clock out of your shift in life and call it quits. If you've ever genuinely felt depressed in the sense that you feel like you have nothing left, please even more than in general play this game. It has changed me substantially as a person and I …

A beautiful narrative story about depression and hope. I recommend it to anyone who loves a nice character-driven story with dream-like visuals.

Just like puss in boots, death is a captivating escape to many trials. A thought that if we end our lives early, will things be easier? Will the weight finally be lifted? Yet as we progress we learn the true value of our one and only life. We may never get rid of the fear, trauma and other things holding us down. The negative thoughts and emotions that push us towards ending things early. Puss in boots helped me learn that. Yet the one thing Puss in boots could not overcome is some of the very "odd" choices when it came to the puzzle design. While most are pretty fair, a certain few felt like a big o'l slap on the boot. While puss in boots taught us how we must cherish our one and only life. The Cat Lady shows us how we can navigate an invisible illness that will truly never fade. We may never get rid of the trauma that creates these negative thoughts, but we can push ourselves to a brighter tomorrow. The contrast, sound design/ost, themes and atmosphere really takes this cat in his boots shine
