good but i thought this would make me pee myself in horror when its just meh

While it's not a masterpiece by any stretch, The Convenience Store was a tidy little horror game and I had fun with it. Some sections had me scratching my head about exactly what I was waiting for or what I had to do, and I think some of the endings didn't feel very satisfying. But it was enough to make me want to check out the creators' other works, so overall a win.

Short & sweet. All in all, solid game with heavy Ringu vibes.

I decided to invest my refund from Crimson Desert into the mega-bundle of Chinchilli's games because despite how "jank" they appear, these are truly memorable and fantastic games. The game developer always treats the player with a high level of respect - not supplying you with any explicit instructions; allowing you to interact with the world at your own pace as the plot unfolds. Similar to old puzzlers, these games often rely on the player clicking on things that "make sense" to proceed. It can be difficult at times, but never enough to stop a playthrough. Is it clunky at times? Yes. Inventory? No. Understand that this is a very low-budget game without AAA tropes, but worth doing the work, in my opinion. This particular title was fantastic. I loved the idea of a haunted supermarket and thought it played out great. The part with the old lady was my favorite. This is the third title I have played of theirs so far (in addition to "HITOKARA" (aka The Karaoke), and "The Closing Shift" which had a part so scary I got a cramp in my leg. If you enjoy scary interactive narrative/walking sims that deliver, this one's worth a playthrough.

This taught me to never do night shifts at a convenience store.
