About The Duck Amikaze Strikes Back
The Duck Amikaze Strikes Back, is a retro style, challenging 2D precision platformer, with a touch of satirical humor.Earning medals isn’t required to finish the game… And if you prefer, you can hide the timer in the accessibility options… but GOLD medals are the only way to become THE DUCK LEGEND!Show mother nature who is the real apex predator!Just like in the story of David and Goliath, be cunning like a... Duck! The Duck Amikaze, just as the mighty Phoenix rises from the ashes, will always Strikes Back!Travel through 5 different regions, and hunt to ashes all the hunters nearby your duck nest to avenge your family, eaten by those... humans. But beware the wildlife of those regions… savage animals might try to eat some of your crispy duck tenders as you charge headlong into each hunter’s hut.Try to collect the 4 vegetables in each level of the game, sometimes well hidden behind secret walls. But beware of the traps set by the hunter!
- Accessibility:
- Select Easy Mode in the option menu to have infinite hearts and infinite jumps if you struggle.
- You can adjust the deadzone value of your controller's joystick to prevent joystick drift/drifting on older/rusty controllers. The value can be set from 20% min to 80% max (with 0% meaning permanent joystick drifting, and 100% meaning the joystick does not register any input at all).
- If you prefer you can hide the three User Interface element separately : hearts, collectible, timer, from the option menu.

Don't overlook this title. The Duck Amikaze takes your average 2D platformer and focuses on the best parts of nostalgic gaming. Level exploration, timed jumps, frantic speed runs and even a little strategic thinking is required. Replaying levels to look for hidden collectibles and hitting speed run times increases the enjoyment of this title. I laughed to the snarky humor, I almost cried at few times due to the well thought out level design, and overall felt nostalgic from the menu design and upbeat BGM. Although a short playthrough with accessibility options to lower the difficulty, the game will present a challenge to even to most seasoned mario maker players. There's loads of achievements to seek out, leaderboards and even a HARDCORE mode unlocked upon completing a normal playthrough. Keep your eye on this developer - as I feel this is only the foundation of what's to come...5 found this helpful
A very challenging game, but is well made with some accessibility features to make it easier. Also a funny premise lol. Great for speedrunners and anyone who loves a good pure platformer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPNaGdlljwo5 found this helpful
I was offered a copy of DUCK AMIKAZE STRIKES BACK via Curator Connect, unfortunately I'm not a specialist of precision platformers, because that's what ths game is, unapologetically so. I found the difficulty ramped up pretty high by level 4, but no doubt the precision platformers amateurs will enjoy this. The game is smooth, not too sophisticated but pleasant enough, with good management of inertia. The music is very nice (it's all royalty free) and will not annoy you more than necessary. Make sure that you enjoy precision platformers before buying.
