The story centers around a young girl whose mother promises to take her and her best friend to the amusement park. But the night before the trip, strange noises begin coming from the house, and her mom starts acting oddly and talking about the return of her father, who’s been gone for years. To make things worse, a mysterious voice urges you to leave the house. So, you grab your trusty little hammer and start exploring. While the game uses a side-view camera like a side-scroller, it actually allows free movement in all directions, similar to a 3D game. There’s no jump button, though, so you’ll need to navigate around obstacles, such as furniture or other junk lying around. You have access to the map from the start, and it displays all nearby rooms of interest along with their names. Each area has its own map, but aside from a few optional safes containing rare and powerful items, requiring special keys, the map doesn’t reveal anything else. It won’t track opened safes or cleared rooms either. This encourages players to interact with everything they find.
