About The Garden Pub

You have just acquired an old pub in a small gnomish village, and now all you have to do is get it cleaned up and ready to serve the whole village! You barely have enough room to serve a handful of customers, so you must build up your reputation and gold in order to stock your pub and expand your dining area.

The Garden Pub was initially a test to explore game development from beginning to end. However, after a few months in, it was decided that we would release this to the public seeing as though there are not many, if at all 1st Person Cooking Simulators that have high poly customers and animations with the ability to cook and serve. Cooking requires you to pay attention to the time an item spends on a grill or in the oven for instance. The serving portion of the game allows for you to stage several items (especially if you have already bought the required ingredients for a specific stew) on a make table so that you can still make use of the rest of a particular recipe.

This game is a discovery experience that is based around most logical scenarios and because of this does not come with a tutorial or other hints.

Very cute, super chill little game. Garden Pub doesn't have a whole lot of content but if you need something to help you wind down after work this is a solid option. The odd vanishing dirty cup or ale mug are the only bugs I encountered, not a problem as you start each shift fresh with piles of both. There are no achievements, but the end goal (should you aim for it) is unlocking all of the buried tables in this dilapidated pub while attracting more and more customers with your ever-increasing reputation. You have the option of serving patrons ale, meats, bread rolls, and a few soups you must make based on their orders. Should you make a mistake and serve them raw food expect projectile barfing, which is honestly pretty funny minus the reputation hit lol Visually TGP looks great, with lots of rich woodwork inside the pub. Audio does the job, but there is no soundtrack - easily remedied via some medieval tavern playlists on Youtube but worth a mention. WASD plus the mouse and a couple other keys are your controls, nice and simple. I paid around $5 for this near release, the current price of roughly $3.50 is fine for the included content. You're looking at between 6 and 10 hours t…

Not worth $10. It has a great concept but needs some work with execution. I got my reputation to 85 and unlocked 2 additional tables but never more than 2 people would come to the bar at the same time. There were times I was left walking around waiting for people to show up. I hired Patrick once to test him out and he continuously glitched. He would walk over to the object then get stuck picking it up. I love the setup and idea of the games but please make it more playable. Also $10 for a what seems to be unfinished game just isn't worth it.

I feel like i have to wait for a couple minutes between customers. Which could be nice later in the game but early on it felt like if you rushed an order and got it done fast you had to wait too long for the next customer. Could be fun down the road but right now it just felt too empty. Would like the game to expand on what it has going for it.

It's a very cute simulation, the models are great. However, it is a little slow to begin with but it does eventually pick up the pace if you bear with it. HOWEVER: Some of the mechanics can be a little confusing (took me ages to find the tap to fill the soup cauldron) There's not really much to do once you do work out what to do... It doesn't really advance from a basic cook and serve simple recipes, there is nothing to really save money to spend on - so your reward is just the activity, meaning you may get bored in a short amount of time.

I tried, this game is fun though. The little gnomes or whatever you call them scare me, but once I blink, their really cute. I keep expecting a horror pop up, maybe it's the color scheme of the game and lighting, I don't know. I didn't know how to make the food, so I just stood still for 5 minutes considering if I'm dumb and missed a tutorial or I am just dumb. It's really nice though, I recommend!!

Slowest game I have ever played. I would never play this again.
