I was so excited to try this game. I adore the Lego Movie, however this game is a disappointment to the legacy the Lego games have built so far. The Good: *It's a reminder of the movie and the goofy things that happened including the original message of the movie The Bad: *The cutscenes are incredibly short with minimal comedy *The number of bugs are annoying, with things that make it hard to progress without a reload *The options menu is sparse with no option to change the size or resolution causing a stretched and very pixelated screen (in my case) *The voice acting is a bit rough around the edges and sounds flat in comparison to the movie (I only played about 70 minutes before returning it so I can't say if it gets better or not) *The controls are not intuitive in comparison to previous games of this type *The new gameplay loop seems to be "How many minigames can we shove into this section in between segments of fighting?" *The lack of puzzles also disappointed me as everything held your hand to an incredible degree and while I do like having a goal and direction unless I'm really struggling I would rather not have everything spelled out for me in flashing circles *…1 found this helpful
I enjoyed this game, although it’s not my top choice. The character animations are funnier than those in other LEGO games. I’m not a big fan of the game, but these animations make sense and are fun to watch. Some characters are unique to this game and are especially fun to play as (not the movie characters or the main characters) On a tier list of TT LEGO games, I would place this one in the lower half, but not at the very bottom.
what i really liked about the game is it’s simplicity like with most lego games and this one is nostalgic for me as i watched the movie when it came out. the things i dont like about the game is that the pc port for the game isn’t as optimised as i hope it would be and also there navigation between finding levels is a bit difficult especially if your not used to the hub layout of the game. however, despite the flaws of the game is it still enjoyable even 12 years later and i would highly recommend to play it.
Peak Movie, Mid game, but MASSIVE nostalgia.
While i prefer my nostalgic puzzle platformers without voice acting hearing Will Ferrel's whining will never not be a treat. Stay Classy, Bricksburg!
Recommended for purchase!
