The Library

This is yet another student project, one of literally thousands self-published on Steam Direct. It's from Sahmyook University in South Korea. This is an academic exercise, not a professional game. While it has more quality than most amateur games, it is not a complete gaming experience. Student projects have limited value for gamers because they're not fully developed games, just barely functional demos that show the students progress. Steam is not a place for for-profit colleges to dump student homework assignments... and having thousands of these is not good for gamers. The students made one of those "repeating level" escape rooms... basically you're stuck on the 8th floor of a library and when you think you get out you're back there but things are slightly different each "loop". Kind of like a really lame spot-the-differences meets first person horror adventure. It's an average concept in general, has been done better than this by other games, and just doesn't pop. But we shouldn't expect too much from student projects. The graphics aren't great, low poly assets with muddy, poor quality textures. The Library is an amazing game of skill and endurance. It is fascinating how much effort was put into minute details and differences! I was very close to failing at descending a floor until I just barely saw the upside-down girl on the wall in a t-pose position. She was tough to find, and I commend the difficulty implemented into the game to inspire a demanding challenge to beat within the target audience. Clearly, The Library is destined to have a roaring fan-base, craving for more. 10/10 for button

I gave this game .1 hours more than it deserved. It's free because its worthless.

Well it was free so I'm not really complaining. But the gameplay didn't make much sense, even after playing around for about an hour. It just keeps sending me back to the 8th floor. Nothing scary happened except some random screaming on a floor. The lowest I got was floor 2 and then I couldn't recreate it when it sent me back to 8. I have no idea how this is supposed to work. The instructions are very vague.
