If you are not a fan of the Lords of the Rings then this is a very easy no. If you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings, and you really want to give this a try, then maybe at a very steep discount and make sure to look up some tips of what to do, because if you don't figure out certain things, this game can feel incredibly frustrating. Also feel free to tune down the enemy horde settings at first to become familiar with the mechanics, otherwise this can add to the frustration. The game is not necessarily bad, but it is left in a rough and unpolished state by its developers who already moved on. It has some performance issues, which can be somewhat mitigated by reducing the spawn rates of enemies, and probably the most frustrating aspect are the slow loading screens. Similar to many survival games, this game suffers from the not moving on from the basics aspect. There will be times where you are focusing more on getting your hunger fixed than actually playing the game. Probably fixed by getting the Durin's Folk DLC, which also adds a ton more issues from what I have heard. Some aspects of crafting have waiting times, and are generally not worth exploring unless you just want all of t…1 found this helpful
Really cool, survival and exploration game. Very nice LotR spirit and I mean dwarfs so yeah !
Yet another survivalcraft game with a decent foundation, brought down by head-scratching design choices and balance issues
LOTR: Return to Moria continues to be a fun experience, even on repeated playthroughs. I did both a cooperative and solo playthrough back when it initially launched on Steam, and again recently having started a new cooperative playthrough to try out the DLC. At its core, Return to Moria is a survival/crafting-lite game, similar moreso to something like Valheim than something like Ark. Even for my friends who are not fans of LOTR, but just survival crafters in general, were able to find enjoyable moments to keep the game engaging. As a LOTR fan, I do find some of the Fanservice moments to be sometimes derivative but it manages to itch that "Dwarf mining underground" vibe. If you want a chill, dwarf cave explorer vibe, then this is a good game to add to your collection. If you don't like survival crafters, even lite ones, then you may want to skip over it.
Really fun game to play with your Friends. if you want to be a Dwarf and Drink Sing and Mine then this is the Game for you. so grab your Axe Ale and Hammer an get to Going To Moria!
