The Lumberjack's Routine

Exceptionally mid. The bummer has been with every new major update, it'll wipe my progress from before and gotta start from scratch.

Overall a decent incremental game. Leaves a lot of potential on the table, as I feel there is MUCH more they could (and maybe should...) have done with this concept. The quests are shallow and end way too soon, and very quickly it devolves into just hacking away at trees, and not much else. If they fleshed out the quest lines, added more upgrades to strive for and maybe added more buildings to build and upgrade, this could be a truly fantastic game. I still enjoyed my few hours with this title, but it just had me wanting more... The art style is nice and lends to a fairly cozy-feeling experience. Not much UI or systems to talk about otherwise. TLDR; It's probably worth the low price tag for a fun and somewhat-satisfying 3-5hrs of incremental coziness. Here's to hoping the devs add some more to the game in the future to really shore up the game! 6.5/10

Chill short almost incremental. ~4h for all achievements. Only negative was the writing for me - not my cup of tea and maybe that the game gets laggy torwads the end even thou it is not as complex as other games like this. [Edit] it started on the second map when I got to the sheep hearder and it got worse once I got to the gold to the right of the hearder. A better word to discribe it would be stutters which then also happens on the following maps. Mainly observerable whilst moving.

I must say I was excited when this game was coming out. It looked fun and had a lot of potential. I liked the style and the art work. But I've beat it twice, once after the update and I was a little underwelmed. I was frustrated by a couple things; -The progression doesn't feel meaningful, even fully upgraded chopping trees is still slow and paying off the debt doesn't feel rewarding. -The pathfinding hasn't been fixed, so workers don't help pick up logs or move to other areas when their area is clear. -The quests are awful, you run back and forth with little to no meaning, supplies and areas are locked for no reason until you hit the quest. Why I couldn't just buy extra explosives or build a bridge with the planks I made is beyond me. Overall, wait for a sale or major updates.

It's not really a sim, not quite an idler, not really sure what it is, but the end left me asking, "why?" Mechanically, it's fine, but I definitely wouldn't call it fun. Feels like a vibe coding project done without much purpose or direction in mind. No, I don't recommend it.
