The Moon my Destination

I want to start this saying - I am NOT a huge fan of platformers. My opinion is mildly skewed based on that. It's hand-painted and very clearly made with love. It has three different game modes, one of which is relaxed and timed so you can endlessly climb to the moon without care until your set timer runs out. The general aesthetic of this game is what drew me in - the mooncalf, climbing the floral stalk into the night sky, the different moths that you're able to reach to color your mooncalf... it's one of the most unique platformer styles I've seen in a while. If you're looking for a more relaxed introduction to Platformers - give this one a shot! We love a passion project around these parts. The only two things I would note as a "negative" aspect of this game have less to do with the gameplay or the artistic design and more to do with the Options menu: 1. I wish there was a way to adjust the movement sensitivity - a lot of the instances where I've died has been because of this, where I barely tap the key and I move WAY further than anticipated. A slider for this might help with that! 2. I also wish that the background music was more lo-fi rather than xylophone. The xylophone…

This is a simple game, and I didn't expect much from it: a straightforward endless runner with beautiful art. But it turned out to have a lot more charm than I expected. An absolute highlight for me are the different game modes. Sometimes I play the relaxed mode just to hunt butterflies and trigger the beautiful visual effects, and I do that surprisingly often, because it is just nice to have a game where I don't really have to achieve anything and can simply watch things happen for a while. Chasing high scores is a very different experience. The game isn't difficult, but it requires concentration and just the right amount of focus. For me, it hits a sweet spot: challenging enough to keep me engaged, but never tiring, and it can become almost meditative. The art is excellent throughout, not just in the backgrounds but in all the little elements and effects. The music and sound are also genuinely pleasant. I'm quite sensitive to annoying game audio, but I haven't felt the need to turn either off even once. I played the Windows version and haven't had a single crash. This probably isn't a game I'll play for hours at a time, but I can easily see those short sessions adding up to …

A delightful hidden gem of a game! The Moon My Destination is an endless runner except its a platformer/you jump up vertically instead of forward/horizontally. The platforming seems simple and at a basic level it is comfortable enough for anybody to grasp, which really hits the cozy vibe. But when you get the hang of the platforms and chain together 3 or 4 jumps in a row it can get quite addicting. There are different game modes (I tried painting and high score) which don't change gameplay much but are nonetheless nice to switch around between. And the art is absolutely breathtaking (so is the music). Cozy fans or anyone looking for a casual gaming session - this one is an easy recommend!
