the park is one of those games that proves you don't need endless jump scares to make people uncomfortable. It's short, but it builds a creepy atmosphere that sticks with you long after you finish. the abandoned amusement park feels unsettling from the first minute, and the sound design does a lot of the heavy lifting. the story is where the game really shines. it deals with grief, guilt, and mental health in a way that's more psychological than outright terrifying. the gameplay is pretty simple—mostly walking and exploring—so don't expect puzzles or action. my only complaint is that I paid for a theme park and somehow managed to ride exactly zero rides without emotional damage. if you're looking for a fast-paced horror game, this isn't it. But if you enjoy psychological horror with a strong atmosphere and a story that makes you think, it's definitely worth playing.2 found this helpful
Are you looking for a walking simulator game where you can stroll through an empty, dilapidated, and abandoned amusement park? This is the game for you. As it turned out, this game actually had lore—which I only discovered after finishing the game. A short but atmospheric horror walking sim where you navigate an abandoned amusement park searching for your son. The voice acting was pretty good and the notes were interesting to read. Loses the plot a bit in the final third and the Stephen King / H.P. Lovecraft references (while I appreciated them) got a bit much after a while, but overall this is worth your time. Finished in 1.5h 7/10 Stars
Its a walking simulator, no more or no less. It's.... ok I spose. You go in the amusment park to find your kid, walk around for a bit, then the game ends in an interrogation room with you explaining where you last saw your son. Oh, and its mostly pyschological horror stuff, which is done ok, but not my cup of tea. Overall, a mostly uninteresting story with just ok environments and atmosphere. However, literally all of the gameplay mechanics in the game consist's of you pressing the sprint button, interacting with notes in the environment, pressing right mouse button to shout and changing the speed of carnival rides. Thats about everything there is to this game, it only took me an hour and a half to do everything and I did it at a leisurely pace. Damn I wish steam would let us give inbetween reviews, but for now, this one is more of a negative.
The story is everything and the journey is based on that. It's not random visuals and cinematography for attention, its a very haunting story and character development and the effect of drugs and the bond that's broken and trying to reconnect. For a fan of Shadow Man (1999), Silent Hill, Twin Peaks, this is a treat and I hope to play more from this team with an immersive story, where all elements come from the story.
