About The Persistence
The Persistence challenges you, a clone of security officer Zimri Eder, to survive aboard a doomed deep space colony starship, overrun with horrific and murderous aberrations. You are the last survivor. Your mission? Restore functionality to the ship and somehow make your way back to Earth.
The Persistence Enhanced brings improved lighting, particle effects and further UX & UI refinements along with DXR RayTracing implementation for supported graphics cards & NVIDIA® DLSS.

Navigate an ever-changing labyrinth
A malfunction in the ship’s macrostructure means the layout of the decks will shift and change configuration periodically. Each and every expedition into The Persistence will be disorienting and different.
Use darkness and cover
Avoid being overwhelmed by the ship’s deadly new inhabitants. Move stealthily, strike from the shadows and deflect any onslaught of counter attacks with your personal shield.
Explore, unlock and upgrade
Harvest DNA material to improve health, toughness and defensive capabilities and loot materials & schematics for weapon upgrades and suit customizations with perks.
Death is just the beginning
If Zimri dies, her consciousness is uploaded into a new cloned body, ready to try again with any upgraded stats, suits & weapon schematics kept for the next attempt.
Asymmetric Multiplayer
Connect a phone or tablet running IOS or Android to the game for up to 2 players to take control of ‘Solex’ – the ship’s engineering system. Once connected, they will be able to take control of the ship’s systems in realtime, including abilities to lure creatures, open doors and disable any of the ship’s internal security defenses.
IOS or Android compatible device and "The Persistence" application required for Asymmetric Multiplayer to work. Data charges may apply.
VR Headset support
Compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index and WMR headsets. Features tailored control settings and comfort options for VR and non-VR play.
Motion controls are not supported.

This game was designed to be played in VR, and it shows. The regular configuration works rather fine, but has been implemented quickly, more like a feature than anything else. That being said, I didn't play the title in VR, but I believe it's quite good for the support. About the regular controls version, well, it's average, on the positive side though. The biggest problem is that it lacks a good polish. The game has a nice atmosphere, very similar to Doom 3. It's not an action game though, you got a nice arsenal and different boosts to help you on your journey, but you can't go all guns blazing. If you're not careful enough, you'll get rekt quite fast. The rogue-lite elements works well and are nicely justified by the scenario, which is simple, but functional. Visually, it's so-so. Without RTX, most shadows will look UGLY, lightings are okay and textures are simple. Playing with RTX, it can look quite good, and I'd say it adds a lot to the atmosphere, the shadows are really good looking with the option on, but I believe the game is poorly optimised for RTX, I have a fairly decent rig and the performances take a huge hit with it - more than usual, at least.
