✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's fluid combat and movement, beautiful art style, and excellent soundtrack, with many comparing it favorably to Dead Cells as a well-executed roguelike-platformer hybrid. Common complaints center on it feeling like a stripped-down version of Dead Cells with less content and depth, and frustration with poor mouse and keyboard controls that feel like controller inputs awkwardly mapped to keyboard.

This game is absolutely amazing, both in terms of its story and gameplay, as well as many other aspects. The music is also fantastic, especially the Iranian-inspired tracks that are performed using traditional Iranian instruments and beautifully integrated into the game. The Iranian music is truly beautiful, atmospheric, and incredibly pleasant to listen to. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, and the attention to Persian culture and music makes the game feel even more special.

Rogue Prince of Persia is such a surprisingly fun game for me. It's PoP: The Lost Crown with Dead Cells roguelite gameplay, with actually more Dead Cells references than I'd have liked. What makes it such an amazing game is not just its gorgeous art and Persian inspired music, but also that it feels like a classic game experience. Like Dead Cells, it has a very carefully designed roguelite progression where the bulk of the content can be experienced in around 10 hours. I actually prefer it this way, because a truly memorable experience isn't meant to be endless, which intentionally or not, ties into the theme of its story. Ultimately, for its meager 10 hours, TRPoP left me with a strange feeling of nostalgia, and I found it to be a more enjoyable game than PoP: TLC. The smoother movement and combat are much more pleasant to play, and having a prince who actually looks and acts like the prince of Persia instead of the prince of Nigeria sporting Killmonger hair also helps. While the story can come off as too goofy at times, it has a central theme of character growth that ties into the time rewind mechanic that I think pays off beautifully in the end. Amazing roguelike! They gameplay, story, ANIMATION. I really had a great time!! I usually get bored of roguelikes because of starting again from scratch, but the time travel here really makes it cannon and enjoyable,
