Being a Princess is not an easy job. Being a Queen is even harder. Especially when you're only fourteen years old, and the reason you've inherited the throne is that your royal mother has just met an untimely end.
Now power is up for grabs. You may be the official heir, but much of the country's nobility would love to steal the throne for themselves. Aggressive neighbors will take advantage of any weakness to enlarge their borders at your expense. And that's not even mentioning the magical dangers which are lying in wait...

It's very nuanced and detailed. It can be overwhelming at first, but it's not hard to get the hang of. The game tells you when skill checks are passed or failed, so you get an idea of what to work on. There's also a map with the Nobles of each region posted in the Steam Artwork tab, VERY helpful if you struggle to keep the politics straight. It IS a game about royal politics, so be prepared for lots of names and faces. The in-game UI could be better for this, but the game is old enough to take that with a grain of salt. There IS a button to tell you what the main character currently knows about whoever's currently speaking- the downside is that its ONLY available when they're currently speaking. So, you might have to remember some stuff, or keep a few notes. It shouldn't be required to beat the game, though. There are plenty of save slots to allow for trial-and-error if you need it. Overall, it's a great game for people who love strategy, puzzles, and lore-rich storytelling.1 found this helpful
It's probably not the best of these sorts of games, but I still had fun playing it. To 100% it's definitely one of those games you will need to look at guides for otherwise you would waste way too much time.
