About The Rubberhose Forest

Welcome to a bone-chilling horror experience set a world inspired by the iconic Steamboat Willie cartoon and Slender: the eight pages. You are a daring cargo collector, navigating through an eerie forest, collecting valuable cargo while desperately avoiding the nightmarish duo, Mickey and Minnie.

Once beloved characters, Mickey and Minnie have transformed into strange entities, their hollow eyes and eerie smiles haunting your every move.

Your objective is simple: Collect valuable cargo scattered throughout the forest and return them to the dock inside a timeframe, while trying to not get caught.

Be aware!
The game uses you microphone, so keep quiet and everything should be alright.

The base game was made as a small project for fun in about a week, with further updates added afterwards to improve on the gameplay.

The Rubberhose Forest Game Review (Disclaimer - This is just my opinion and may be unpopular or disliked.) 1. This game can be played in one sitting as it is very short. 2. This game is basically a play on Steamboat Willie meets Slenderman. 3. The art style of the game is very horror Cuphead, or Bendy. 4. The game isn't too difficult once you understand how to work around the environment, and avoid Mickey and Minnie Mouse. 5. Mickey can get annoying, but once you figure out what causes him to come for you he's pretty easy to avoid. (Tips - don't step on twigs, don't sprint, and don't make any noise when Mickey is around this will be signalled by heavy footsteps, but know that he can't see you only hear you.) 6. Minnie adds to a tense Slenderman environment as she is for the most part rather silent when she approaches so it can sometimes be hard to avoid her. (Tips - listen for laughter and odd noises and make sure to look at her when spotted as this causes her to go away temporarily and buy you some time.)

The scariest thing about this game is seeing that it starts Steam VR for no apparent reason. Just kidding. The real scariest thing is that it uses your microphone without telling you in-game. Like, c'mon. It's a neat idea. But just tell me IN THE GAME. Yes I know the store page says it, but I don't think that's enough. I'll never be able to actually beat this game - my default microphone is broken, and steadily produces a constant hissing sound, so I have no chance to avoid being immediately tracked. This game needs an option to change which input it's listening to.

Minnie was a little pain but the tactic of finding multiple boxes and throwing them to the boat all together made things easier. Instead of going back for each box.
