The Shadow of Yidhra

I'll finish it but honestly play Cyan Brain instead. Broken story, poor translation, very easy.

Boring as Sin zombie erotica walk and shoot flash game. Just pay Cyan Brain instead, at least their designs are interesting. Rating 2/10. Pros: No game breaking bugs. Cons: Everything is boringly generic: level design, gameplay, weapons, H Scenes, story, art. All sucks. Also please give me more save points. Note: Cyan Brain is the closest thing to this and it at least does art and atmosphere VERY WELL. Its gameplay is just as bad but at least it is worth it.

This was one of those games that I bought as a case study for work. Mainly for the 2D side-scroller gun combat, the survival horror genre, the anime-styled characters and the mature theme, all which are very far from the sensbilities of the 2D gamedev team I work with but are something that could help them make games with better appeal to the audience we have access to. The 2D side-scroller gun combat and the anime style was what caught my eye in the first place, and it was also those two aspects that kept me going. As far as a dōjin game goes, it is a quite decent production. So much so that I played it for three hours before I moved on. Looking beyond the obvious fanservice elements, the 2D anime-character key art and in-game art is well crafted. Having such large character sprites with crisp line art and details gives The Shadow of Yidhra a 'rich' feeling at times. Fluid and dynamic 2D animation is a deep craft, time consuming and costly endevour. Not something I expect dōjin and indie games to have.
