The Outer Worlds is forgettable, two dimensional, and largely insulting to players. From a technical standpoint the game is woeful. Optimisation is bad and so are the game's settings. There is a lack of granularity and options to tune the fidelity of the game. For some reason there is mouse-acceleration and deceleration present, and the crosshair is significantly below the centre of the screen with negligible options to change or disable either. Terrain, objects, items, and set pieces will render in haphazardly and things that should be static morph and contort before your eyes as the LODs bug out. Seams in the world space haven't been sewn together properly, allowing for the player and enemies alike to spot one-another through terrain. The graphics feel devoid from reality. While the palette is overbearingly bright, there is a fundamental lack of distinguishment between foreground and background, leaving the game feeling largely two dimensional. This is further exacerbated by the silhouettes of characters and set pieces being underdeveloped. Similarly traversal of the world is malformed and frustrating. I honestly love this game. Very creative in so many aspects and I personally don't have issues running the game at all. It works perfectly fine for me and I haven't ran into any crashes. The CPU is a bit stupid, I can run up to them and they won't try to spray me down a lot of the times and they can also bug out, glitching through walls or running into walls but it doesn't happen a lot or to the point where it annoys me. The tasks, side quests, missions, ect. can be pretty confusing because some of them don't always tell you what you should do or where to go like most of them do. The gameplay is still pretty fun, the weapons are great and there's a lot of different types of them, traveling and seeing different areas of the worlds is very fun, go at your own pace, you have so much freedom to do and be however you want. I get other people have trouble with this game but personally, I don't, and I at least think it's worth a shot if someone wants to play this game.
