A game about taking photos of all sort of cool floating fish while being stationed on top of a catfish (friend). This game made me feel held in a special kind of way. The writing is thoughtful and whimsical at the same time, loved every bit of it! If by some chance you ended up on this steam page I assure you, you would appreciate to have this experience. A delightfully funky ecosystem of critters and mechanisms. At once a whimsical escapist fantasy and a reminder that escapism alone is not sufficient. Ghibli-eqsque whimsy and cartoonish absurdism are directed in so many games and other media towards empty 'coziness'. But here both are utilized for a strong sense of sincerity, pierced with notes of melancholy and obligation bringing you back to earth both literally and figuratively.1 found this helpful
Finally went back and finished this game for myself after some issues arose during my playthrough on stream, and honestly this is one of my favorite rumination on the meaning of life in the form of a video game. I don't know that I ever have played something really like this, but what I've played I loved from start to finish. Also shout out to the developer for being really present in people's chats when someone streamed this game; always love to see that kind of thing, and it definitely showed how much love and care is involved with this whole game.
A truly lovely game filled with humor, whimsy, and heart. I was expecting a cute little Pokemon Snap-type game, but the experience was much deeper than I was anticipating (both from a gameplay perspective, and the game's hard-hitting and sentimental story). The writing is excellent (funny without being too over-the-top, and getting real in all the right places), and the game is scored by an unforgettable soundtrack that I'll be bumping for a long time to come. Highly recommend! This game is an inspiration
