I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Classic point-and-click feel, appropriate pixel graphics, and sound is even appropriately retro. The voice acting is okay; the principal characters are well done, but some of the secondary characters not so much. Mostly sensible puzzles here, though I would definitely categorize the solution to one particular puzzle as "moon logic", and the solution to one of the final puzzles in the game doesn't make a ton of sense to me: [spoiler] when adding items to the cauldron to send Arthur back, none of the items you put into the pot -- wine, dirt, bean soup, a lit menthol cigarette --make sense as an "air" element [/spoiler]. Would love to hear the developer's explanation for that one. It would also be easy to write this off as biting off of the Blackwell games, since it is a human and a ghost, you can switch between them, it also has puzzles that require going into places with the ghost that the human can't reach, etc. But this also brings in a ghostly possession element which is fun, and overall the dialogue and writing in this game are honestly better than any of the Blackwell games. Fun time. Well voice-acted and a wide variety of puzzles. In terms of puzzle difficulty, I got a lot of them, but I'm not sure if I would have made it through without a walkthrough.
This game was hilarious. I loved the banter between Arthur and Jack. There were some Easter Eggs in there for old school point 'n click gamers like myself that I greatly appreciated. Really looking forward to see if there is a sequel.
