The Wind and the Wisp

The Wind and the Wisp is such a charming little adventure that I was pulled into its world almost immediately. I play as the Wind alongside the Wisp, a tiny white ghost with a red ribbon, as the two of us try to repair a mysterious broken garden. I really liked how the game takes a simple idea and gives it an emotional story about friendship, grief and finding a way to move forward. The microphone mechanic is easily my favorite part. I actually have to blow into my microphone to create the Wind, which can push the Wisp around and interact with different parts of the environment. I thought this was a really clever way of making the player feel connected to the Wind rather than simply controlling another character with a normal button press. It is unusual enough that I immediately wanted to experiment with what my breath could do. The flower mechanics also give the puzzles some nice variety. Different flowers provide different abilities, so progressing through the garden involves figuring out how to use them to repair broken objects and clear obstacles. This is such a beautiful rendition of death, wholesome and whimsy to it's core. Please, just be aware of oxygen deprevation lmao. A big thank you to 'Lil Buddy Productions' for this free game, although a short 20minute session, it's assessibility and novelty enables for an entertaining and heartfelt gaming session. Highly recommend giving this a play and help your wisp garden to the ever after. I did indeed cry at the ending. Twice. <3

This is probably the only time i will write a serious review. Never have i ever been sobbing for 10 minutes from a game with only 20 minutes of playtime. The game's story and art direction is written in such a way, that a ribbon and white sheet is making you break down infront of your desk. Genuinely amazing. I walked in, expecting a cutesy interactive game, but instead i got the most shocking experience of all time. This was a fun ride, while it lasted.

I did not understand a single thing and I loved it. 10/10; touched me more than my homies
