About Theseus Protocol

Theseus Protocol is a deck building strategy roguelike set in a dire dystopian world. Take the role of Prometheus and alter the fate of humanity with a collection of vigorous cards and a variety of weapons at the ready. Journey across disparate lands, encounter relentless foes, and unveil Mark City’s darkest secrets.

Unravel the fragmented narrative of Mark City across a divergent city riddled with elitist conspiracies and gang induced turmoil. Explore branching paths through successive playthroughs and reveal the history behind Mark City and its inhabitants. Each step plays a role in uncovering the truth.

Engage in stimulating turn-based battles and unleash an arsenal of extraordinary cards against brutal adversaries. Gain the tactical advantage by changing positions to dodge incoming attacks and even cause enemies to crash into one another. Leave no waste, as any cards leftover can be utilized as ammunition for Prometheus’ weaponry. The fate of humanity lies within the ultimate deck and a masterful strategy.

Key Features:
  • Dynamic and stimulating turn-based battles with a strategic twist
  • Nonlinear, fractured narrative to unravel across a roguelike adventure
  • Progressive deck building through successive runs
  • Influential card-fueled weaponry
  • Three playable characters all with unique combat styles and narrative threads

this game have some really good ideas, with how cards can be used to either charge a special meter or played, that also could play into each characters gimmic to make them feel unique. it sadly don't use any of that potential as the card pool is shallow and is mostly shared between character, the metaprogress is power rather than variety and and overall the game is too same-y for a deck builder, there's dozens of better animeesque deckbuuilders out there, try one of them instead.

It's... not bad. I almost want to give it a thumbs up, but this game starts to crumble under its own weight. It tries to do too much at one time and it becomes a mess. I've played a LOT of card games, so I figured I'd be able to get a handle on it fairly easily... and I did at first, but it just keeps twisting itself over and over. I unlocked the cool sword class and it was incredibly disappointing. Very convoluted. So, no, I can't recommend this.

It's true that there isn't a whole lot to the game yet, though I'll say that for $10, it's very fun, well-made, and so far both Charlotte and Antiope are very different and very fun to play in their own ways. I love both, in terms of both gameplay and design. The story is poorly-translated, so that's definitely something that needs work, and the cutscenes make no sense. I'm giving this a positive review because I think that everything the game does have is far more important than what it lacks. I love this game, and I highly recommend it. It's fantastic for what you pay for it, and you'll get a lot more fun for your money than many other titles.
