I was already a big fan of the demo version, and the full game definitely lived up to my expectations. The gameplay is simple but super addictive, with fast-paced action that keeps you hooked for "just one more round". The visuals are charming, the controls feel smooth and it's the kind of game that is easy to pick up but hard to put down. Definitely worth buying!

In my opinion Timber Fever has a lot of excellent qualities: the gameplay is relaxing but still engaging, the progression is rewarding, the learning curve is well-designed, it features a charming art-style and theme, and you can break the game with many different builds which keeps it fresh for quite some time. The only criticism I have is that some weapons are clearly much stronger than others, so you could call that a bit unbalanced, but then again, that is also part of what makes a roguelite fun: some runs you get to take it easy after hitting an extremely broken build, and other runs you have to put in more effort because you didn't get so lucky. So is it even a criticism? I don't know, you decide Overall, I find this game to be great fun, and I'm honestly surprised that it has so few reviews after being out for almost a week (only 19 at the time of writing). For anyone interested in these types of games, I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Tools (weapons) and upgrades are interesting and choices really matter. Pricy unlocks make it too grindy, though. [/i] + Many baddies on screen :-) + Great rewards "no hit" shifts, so you're incentified to focus on what's happening. + You actually have to use your brainpower when choosing tools (weapons) and perks (what, you're saying I have to use my brain in an incremental game???). +/- Multiple playable beavers, but they don't feel so different from each other. - You only go left and right, plus attack/cut. And a not very impactful special. Even playing only one run par gaming session feels repetitive. - The game overstays its welcome. Unlocking new tools, perks and beaver is too grindy & going through the 5 difficulty levels doesn't bring enough novelty to feel worth playing. - No controller support. I like it! I dont know why but these kind of games just tickle my brain in the right places. Number go up, brain go YES MORE!
