About TMM: Entourage

Description

Tales of Mystics and Madmen: Entourage or TMM: Entourage for short is a top down shooter with a couple of RTS mechanics mixed in. You pick one of three sides and fight either the other two in various competitive or just one side in cooperative game modes. Each player character is joined by three bodyguards which may be controlled by your friends at the push of a button on a gamepad. The game offers various objective-based game modes which vary in length and style, with most of them sharing the same principles.

Although this game can be played by yourself, it is more fun to engage in conflict with your friends locally and with others around the globe.

Background

Three sides fight for supremacy. They are called Primitivists, Progressionists and Royalist. The Prims are deeply connected with nature and draw influences from various African and Asian cultures. Progs have aristocratic origins and happen to be techno-lovers (literally), they tend to invent the next big thing before anyone else gains knowledge of their last big thing. The Royals foster nobility and pride and like to duel each other if not fighting off some bigger threat.

✦ AI summary

Tales of Mystics and Madmen: Entourage is a tactical multiplayer strategy game with solid core gameplay mechanics and cooperative features that some players enjoy, but it suffers from significant technical issues including crashes, poor UI design, and dated graphics and animations that severely hamper the experience. While the game concept shows promise and has supportive fans who appreciate its indie charm and strategic depth, the numerous bugs, lack of polish, and presentation problems make it difficult to recommend in its current early access state.

"Tales of Mystics and Madmen: Entourage".. oh sir, it was a trauma.. ok I know it's early access, but is it going somewhere from such a start? Look, I almost felt like I had to resort to illegal substances to recover the mental balance after I've touched this UI for 1 minute. The visuals ain't inspiring as well, motion feels very clunky, effects are poor, animation.. it could be ok in 1997's game, textures.. there might as well be none. The music sounds like romantically depressive britpop - I couldn't even make myself to listen to 1 full track. As far as I could get it seemed like a tactical action meant for coop or pvp gaming built around taking & holding special spots on a map in different modes. What are those modes? I ain't gonna find out (little low on substances lately). But it surely looks like DOTA, but very original. With that said, there are tons of settings to tune the gameplay with & it is obvious that the dev means some serious thing, so probably it is somewhere there, but I really can't find motivation to continue digging to recover the point.

OK so TMM: Entourage is another RTS and Tactics game. All you have to do is pick your side and become the commander. Then you get to select your soldiers and lead them into different battles (CTF, Conquests, Escort, Warfare & deathmatches). Your friends can fight beside you as the game supports both online co-op & multi-players. The game has both good graphics & soundtracks. The gameplay on the other hand is very enjoyable & has got only 6 easy achievements to unlock.

Hey, I really loved the game - it offers a wonderful indie feeling for everyone who is tired of blockbuster games :-) I love the music, the flair and the game ideas. There are so many things to discover!
