The greatest stealth-espionage game of all time!
This is peak Splinter Cell. That is it. There are no other entries in the Splinter Cell series that even come close to what this game did in terms of gameplay, aesthetics, story, mechanics. For a dark, stealth shooter with high levels of realism - I would even say this game is peak for the entire stealth genre if those qualities are what you are looking for.
Kiss her, for she is beautiful!
I've been a fan of Splinter Cell for 20 years. I started doing a replay of all the games, and I finally reached the magnum opus that is Chaos Theory. Hell... Yes!! I'm on Mission 6, so I'm about halfway done in my playthough, but this isn't my first rodeo. I've played this game multiple times before, and I can tell you it still holds up as one of the greats! Everything great about the first two games, they improved in Chaos Theory. EVERYTHING! They added a co-op mode that you can still play using a program called "Radmin VPN" to trick the game into thinking you have a LAN connection. I played a bit with a friend of mine, and it's fun as hell. Just made sure you both have the same settings. If one if you has ThirteenAG's widescreen fix, the other needs it too (Also, get ThirteenAG's widescreen fix) You owe it to yourself to play this game. It's $10. What are you waiting for?
there will never be a stealth game this good again. peak lightning in a bottle. (played this game on xbox 360, when game released, finally returned to play it on steam with some modern compatibility mods)
I haven't gamed in nearly a year, so I was thrilled to test out a lot of my games. I was having a lot of fun playing around with DisplayFusion, Borderless Gaming, and MS PowerToys. I game on an ultrawide, and having those three programs running is a must for us ultrawide gamers. Unfortunately, “Splinter Cell Chaos Theory” is weirdly developed, as it cooks your audio, drops your native resolution to 240p, and then launches the game into "fullscreen". Sadly for me, there's no option in the settings that lets you make the game windowed, and even though the game's “ini” files say you can, the game itself says otherwise when you launch it. There was a nice mod that skips the unskippable startup intros, but none that makes the game windowed. Oh, well. I'll just continue playing on my Steam Deck when my brother returns it, or wait for the Steam Machine :/
