Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas

this is one of those games thats one leg firmly in console trash territory while dragging the decorated corpse of rainbow behind it. points for not being afraid to do stupid third person cover mechanics trying to be 2004 as hard as possible, seriously kudos. it sucked then and maybe its aged kind of ok because its an abandoned mechanic. honestly I mostly forgot to use it except to try and cheese to brutal difficulty. to which my next set of points go to. no compromise 1-2 shots and you are dead. the game has an extremely limited gearset and method of approach but theres enough doors and orders and angles to keep it fresh. the environments are fun but horribly gimped by being head over behind console developed. third kudos to ubisoft you can tell when this is they still sort of cared. pc gets official add on content for free which you can find online. terrorist hunt and other modes are adequate and fun. I couldn't wait to complete the game because its brutally difficult and i return to it every few months to slog through but for all the other obvious qualities of coop and a basic level of competency despite its technical issues of which theres only really the fps needing to be cappe…

Hey kiddo, Handsome Jack here... and I just played Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, and apparently somebody decided that the best way to solve a terrorist crisis was to send a handful of heavily armed professionals into Las Vegas and let them ruin everyone's evening. Honestly? Excellent security policy. You're part of Rainbow, you're dropped into Vegas, and suddenly the city is crawling with terrorists. Your job is to clear rooms, rescue hostages, breach doors, give orders, and generally make sure everyone involved has a terrible night. And finally, a shooter that understands the importance of team management. You don't just run into a room screaming and emptying a magazine. Well, you can, but then your team has to come drag your corpse out of the hallway. Instead, you peek under doors, use cameras, mark targets, give your squad commands, and carefully plan how you're going to turn the next room into a very bad career decision for its occupants. That's leadership, kiddo. You can tell your team to breach a door, throw a grenade, rappel down buildings, take enemies from multiple angles, and generally do the things your average multiplayer teammate would rather die than attempt…

I played this a lot on the Xbox 360, back in the day. A bit clunky, but a lot of fun, and the multiplayer (when it was active) was great fun. It's from that great era of Ubisoft actually when they crafted entertaining games.

The first couple levels are playable but I can't seem to get that far ahead. Pretty good graphics. I like the cover system in Rainbow Six Vegas. Game looks like it'll be good on store I think its a good idea for a game but if its so challenging you can't advance levels what's the point of it being fun?

I always enjoy these types of games.
