While simple in theory, the execution leans heavily into tactile engagement, giving players a sense of involvement in every stage of the restoration process. The gameplay loop is deliberately methodical. Each toy arrives in a damaged state, and the player must disassemble it, clean individual components, repair imperfections, and eventually reassemble the finished product. Toy Tinker Simulator: BETA is a small repair simulator built around something I do not see very often in games, fixing toys. I get my own little workshop and work through damaged toys by taking them apart, cleaning them, sanding them, painting them and putting everything back together. The idea is pretty simple, but I actually like how relaxing it can feel when I am just working through one repair at a time. It is also worth remembering that this is only a beta version and it contains ten toys, so I am judging it as a small preview rather than expecting it to have everything from the full game. The repair process is easily the best part for me. I am not just pressing one button and watching a progress bar. Different toys can need different jobs such as cleaning, painting, sandblasting, coating, sanding, sewing and stuffing, so there is a nice little routine to working through them. I also get to take before and after photos, which makes the restoration feel a bit more satisfying because I can actually see the difference between the damaged toy I started with and the finished one. This could have potential, but at the moment it's not at all satisfying to play. Initially, I really loved the idea of a game where you get to take apart, clean, repair, and put back together toys, but the execution is not even remotely there. I enjoy games like House Flipper and Crime Scene Cleaner, and was expecting something more along those lines. In those games, you get to choose what item you think is best for the job, and have to direct those cleaning items over the areas you wish to fix up, with a percentage showing how much you've completed of 100%. This game is point-and-click only. It holds your hand through the entire process to the point where it practically does it for you. You don't even have the option of picking the wrong method of repair. When it comes to cleaning and painting the toys, you just waggle the mouse cursor over the item, within a small, set area of movement, until it's finished. The ultrasonic cleaner and sticker printer are an even worse experience in terms of expectations vs reality.
