Treasure Beach

I tried to like this one but it is really a long and repetitive game. I like the simplistic and cozy design though. Maybe for a younger public? Edit: I forgot to add but my review is negative because there isn't much to do in the game that's why it's repetitive. Buying this full price would be a rip-off. No dopamine, very little satisfaction and a little incomprehension when you are recycling. Little get-rich-quick trick: when you have unlocked the vet (after island 2 I think), spend all your money on the pet priced 50 and then play a game at the fair where the minimum winning prize is 50 (for example the one where you have to find 3 of the same ball prizes), you may have to wait time to get a day where it's that game.

A relaxing enough mindless collectathon game, I played it pretty extensively while I was Going Through It and then ground out the last few achievements after the fact. It got a little old after a while, but the simple mechanics were nice and relaxing for a while, and the progression is pretty satisfying. I think the characters are pretty cute as well. The devs listened to feedback intently for the first week or so after launch, and the game has been updated for the better as a result.

A charming throwback to browser flash games of the 2000s, albeit with a bit more to explore.

In the age of endless cosy games, a nice breath of fresh air. I have become quite tired of all of the games that make you play every day, and it's so nice to have a little game that you can play and finish in a week or so. It's very relaxing raking the beach each day, cleaning the items and selling them in your little beach booth. There are also locations to unlock, upgrades to buy, and a few optional activities every day, like recycling, chatting to the other residents and a shell matching game that can earn you a bit more money. I have finished the story, but there are a lot of collections to finish and achievements to get, plus the items that appear on the beaches are random, so I can see myself casually playing this one for lots of cosy evenings to come. Solid 4/5, I only wish the game was better optimised for the Steam Deck too.

I love EVERY game Rogue Duck makes. This one was so cute though. I loved that the characters all had their own stories, you really got to know them. 10/10.

I really, really would put this as neutral if I could. There would be some situations I would totally recommend this. I think kids 10 and under would love this game, and some choices (ex. auto-clearing the remaining sand from an item when you've only cleared about 80% of it yourself) feel like maybe that is the intended audience? However, as an adult with extremely limited free time, if I'm playing a game where I'm bored and actively choose to turn it off before I'm out of free time, I can't recommend it in most situations. Unfortunately, that's happened each time I've tried to play this game, thus the "Not Recommended". The Good - Cozy atmosphere - Very cute graphics - I really like the music The Neutral - Mostly mindless. Can be a pro or a con depending on what you're looking for. - I personally didn't care for the controls to the point where I turned on Mouse Keys so I could use my keyboard to click instead of having to click my mouse so much, but I think this point might just be me, so it's a neutral.
