UC Love

"UC Love" is a rather mediocre dating sim set at the University of California and, well, not offering that much of interest to gamers, unless you're a huge fan of both UC and dating sims. The player counts for the game indicate not that many people are. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. This is a rather simple, yet enjoyable little dating sim. It's different from others I've played in that it doesn't really follow a story. Instead, you choose where to go and whether you want to interact with any of the other characters. While this isn't massive, it should take less than an hour to finish one character arc which is nice in itself.

A charming little dating game, the character art is cute and the personalities are entertaining enough. It doesn't really waste time with unrelated content everything is pretty focused on you either flirting with a character or collecting money to get them gifts, and it does it very well, I had a lot of fun, shame we will probably never get a sequel 8/10
