About Vampire Slayer: The Resurrection

Based on my Half-Life mod from years ago, Vampire Slayer: The Resurrection is a new asymmetric first-person hero shooter where the slayers have traditional weapons and the vampires rely on speed, strength and stealth.

Only the Slayers Carry Weapons. The Vampires have stealth, speed and deadly melee attacks.
Slayers must knock a vampire to the ground before staking them. If they do not stake them within a few seconds the Vampire will resurrect.

A Vampire can feed from dead Slayers to regain strength. Leap from tall buildings onto your prey or hunt in the dark.

Now YOU must choose a side.

remake of vsmod from Half-Life, not chapter VII. very similar to the one on xbox 360 which made by the original developers. the optimization is terrible because of capped framerate. the menu navigation is completely terrible—especially the pause menu which you have to use WASD to choose an option and you walk in the meantime. the mouse is unavailable in menus. there are absolutely no graphical settings to change. we have some of the original maps from the mod itself. some sounds had been changed, some of areas got a graphical upgrade. main/remade maps are not very interesting but more detailed than original maps. the resurrection is made by wobbly tooth. the developers are not known for making quality games but this remake is quite acceptable. it is good to revive old games and mods. it was going to release under the name of 'Vampire Slayer: New Blood' by different developers. routetwo—the developers of original Vampire Slayer mod from UK refused to share the rights of the mod, this lead the other developers to release the game under different a name which is called 'Bloodbound' now. the game publicly got updated in Discord servers in 2022. fun fact: one of the lead developers …

TL;DR: Don't buy. It's dead and has little content. Go play the HL1 mod instead. As a bit of a heads-up, I personally LOVE the original mod and was introduced to the concept by the Xbox 360 indie game. In fact, it’s my favorite GoldSrc mod to play to this day (besides CS 1.6) and it’s not just because of the decades of custom maps out there. This game however, while oftentimes incredibly cheap, just isn’t worth your money. The positives out of the way, I do appreciate that there is a decent selection of maps, not as much as the mod, but also significantly more than the 2 or 3 maps on the 360 game. In general, this IS better than the last console counterpart in virtually every way. The redesigns for the vampires and some of the maps I think do a good job upholding the original aesthetic while updating them for more modern standards. Even the hud and sound design is lifted straight from the mod and for the hud elements at least, cleaned up to look slightly better. The overall focus on the past in this game is highly appreciated as they also ported over the retro versions of maps if they had significant enough layout differences while still maintaining the original blurry HL texture…

I was waiting for years and years someone to bring back the Vampire Slayer we all knew from Half Life 1 - Someone did it and we can thanks them. However, Some basics are really missing and because of that the game is unplayable. For example, we cannot use the mouse through the Menu, moreover, there is no Vosual/graphic option, meaning that you cannot change the resolution (thats a big deal on my 49" screen..) To conclude, that was a good idea to bring back a "remaster" of VS. But unfortunately the game will remain dead without support from the Dev.
