Short But Fun
GOOD-LOOKING VECTORS
This is a neat little puzzle game, it's a shame I'm clearly too stupid for it. I don't like not having a way to close it without hitting shift + tab and having steam do it for me, and no way to turn the music off (that I could find) is pretty annoying, those are really basic features. But it is free and its better than I can do, so there's no point in complaining too much.
"Vector Space" is a browser/mobile/Flash tier puzzle game, a simple tech demo basically. What do you do in the game? Click on the rows or bars to "flip" them until you completely colour each square the same colour. That's it. This is shallow even for a browser game, yet it's here on Steam up against Counter-Strike and DOTA2. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. …
Fun puzzle game! Felt very relaxing too.
