About VERLIES II
"Come into my dungeon, and show me your strength... I will crush your sword and bones in return. Many so-called heroes tried to plunder my treasures and their skulls are now part of my impressive collection... Run away while there’s still time!"
VERLIES II is a ruthless dungeon crawler game. The player embodies a hero he can select from eight brave adventurers willing to enter a mysterious dungeon filled with ancient forgotten treasures.
The game revolves around a village where the player is offered many different services (blacksmith, merchant, magician, inn, money games etc.) so he can get ready and go as far as possible in the depths of the cursed dungeon. Relentless monsters, numerous treasures, ferocious traps, immersive puzzles, many dangers await him inside, especially as death is final.
Unlike many games that only offer quests that are easy to solve, everything that stand on the way of the player in VERLIES II was conceived to stop it.
Only the bests and most determined will feel the pride of experiencing the end!
- Beautiful and immersive comic style graphics
- A gigantic dungeon with completely randomly created floors
- Several millions of randomly created stuff to loot!
- Permadeath
- Numerous game mechanics to discover and mastering
- Come to challenge a hundred of monsters specifically designed to kill you
- Solve many quests and puzzles
- Many heroes to unlock
- Nervous and addictive combat system
- Original skill system, which requires optimization and tactical decisions
- And many secrets and things to discover!

Verlies 2 is trying to be an old school dungeon crawler, and approaching it with the design sensibilities of the 80's. The game is brutally hard, with experimentation and resources constrained down to a very narrow field of options. The economy of health loss, equipment durability loss, and the potion and repair systems that serve to restore it can quickly become a vice grip, as you run out of hitpoints to explore the dungeon, run out of money, and become unable to escape impending death. Furthermore, most of the systems for upgrading gear are effectively a trap, as enchanting, buying or improving best gear has very little return on investment without control over the upgrades, the steep chance of item deletion, and the need to preserve money to avoid the aforementioned deathspiral. At the end of that journey of learning what skills are worthwhile, how to spend your money and how to conserve hitpoints in battle through judicious stamina and shield management, you get a truly mediocre game. The end result is a sense that the best way to play is to simply complete the first level, use the 100+ gold to gamble, and if you win 7 or 8 consecutive games, then you have the thousands of go…2 found this helpful
Verlies 2 is an amazing game. If this was released in late 80s/early 90s this would be classic today I am pretty sure of it. Game is underrated and it`s also extremely unique, which for me is 1 to 2 points up just because of that. If Pathologic Classic HD is most unique story telling game, Verlies 2 is most unique dungeon crawler. I see there is many negative reviews here about the game and I understand that. IMHO, people didn`t put enough effort because they thought it`s not worth it. Not many people even played this game since there is almost nothing about it when you google it. Most of the obstacles you will be stuck with in the game you will only find here on steam and most of it is answered by developer himself (Tyler). Game is not easy, especially for starter when you don`t know nothing but once you figure out how to play, it is not that hard. Game has great art style, amazing music and atmosphere. Music is so good, whenever I am in temple I stay and listen to that tune till end until it starts from beginning. :D There is only one thing that should have been done better - SKILLS. All of skills in game, you can develop them for 5 levels and spend 5 skill points but not all ski…1 found this helpful
Tried saving the world - everyone took a vacation. Left me with a quest to find a sock. Shadows refused to show up. Even the wind sighed and quit.1 found this helpful
This game is awesome. I love the lore explaination for the translation issues and I like how town is set up. I'd recommend lowering the difficulty, but I may eventually increase it again once I get used to it. Only complaint I have is that the enemies don't telegraph their attacks. It's a shame this has mixed reviews, it's incredibly cheap and I could quite easily sink many hours into this. Plus, the loop of leaving the dungeon, upgrading stuff and then gambling whatever cash you have is very satisfying. There's a deep and earnestly designed game here. Time for a Verlies II renaissance I think.
VERLIES II, developed and published by Koya Game, is a dungeon crawler that commits wholeheartedly to a harsh, methodical style of play that feels rooted in the traditions of classic roguelikes. It doesn’t attempt to ease players into its systems or soften the edges of its design; instead, it embraces difficulty as a core identity. From the outset, the game establishes a tone of tension and uncertainty, where every step forward into the dungeon carries risk and every decision has the potential to end a run. It’s an experience that values patience, planning, and resilience over speed or spectacle. The overall structure revolves around a cyclical progression loop centered on a village hub and a procedurally generated dungeon. Before each descent, players prepare by managing equipment, purchasing supplies, and making strategic choices about how to approach the next run. Once inside the dungeon, the game shifts into a survival-focused crawl where resources are limited and threats are constant. The procedural generation ensures that layouts, encounters, and rewards change each time, forcing players to rely on adaptability rather than memorization. This unpredictability is one of the ga…
