Void Sails

Overhyped as hell. Game dev said it was like "treasure planet" which is one of my favourite Disney films...and he lied. It's so boring and nothing remotely like treasure planet!!! Give it a HARD pass for at least 5 years until this "game" actually turns semi decent.

An interesting journey into the Eldritch, all while aboard an Airship. It's rolling system is unique, as it requires you to roll lower rather than higher. As an airship fan, I've enjoyed flying one despite how careful you need to sometimes be due to acceleration, deceleration, and more realistic turning (rather than just rotating)

I absolutely loved playing this game. I have only two complaints: I wanted a longer story, and I wish the ship's base-line speed was a bit faster. Other than that, once I got the hang of things, I had an absolute blast! The setting, the story, the Eldritch Vibes somehow blended perfectly with Treasure Planet vibes (although far less kid-friendly!) and the choices system all blew me away. I will be replaying this game at least two more times, and happily showing it off to my partner. 10/10, go play it!

I beat the game, gameplay was nice and the narrative was compelling.

Enjoyable. I wish the ship was a little faster.. and yet the game would have ended sooner... At the beginning, it would have helped to make it clearer on how to dock. The game also felt unbalanced - getting full shields was very important and made the rest of the game a lot easier. Also of note, you never leave the ship, when you do, it is a text adventure. Some people will like that, others won't. It was a fun game.

In this episode I take to the skies in the Airship Adventure Void Sails. This game is the breakout title by Ticking Clock Games, which is very surprising given the high quality of the game. Void Sails is a Steampunk Themed RPG, that places the player in the role of a new captain of a state of the art, solar powered airship. Your first mission is to venture into the void, a mysterious dimension that contains fabulous wealth, and otherworldly knowledge of immense value. However the void is also home to Eldritch Horrors, robotic automatons and vicious bandits driven mad by the horrors of the void. The player will need to navigate a safe path through the void, managing their scarce supplies and using either your academic skills or brute force in your interactions with the void. As you explore you'll gather wealth that you can use to upgrade your ship with additional firepower which youll need as you defend your crew. Your decisions will determine whether your expedition returns with fortune and glory, or…
