About The Rewinder
You play as Yun, a "rewinder" who dives into people's memories to influence their actions and change the past, solving puzzles by manipulating senses and intentions to uncover what happened to a mysteriously abandoned village. This pixel art adventure blends traditional Chinese folklore with an evocative mystery, letting you commune with mythological beings as you investigate why a spirit cannot be reincarnated.
The Rewinder is a 2D puzzle adventure game inspired by traditional Chinese folklore.
The game uses pixel art to mimic the aesthetics of Chinese ink paintings. Players will get to meet mythological figures such as the Spirit Wardens, the Ox-head and Horse-face Guardians of the Beyond, and the Tudi Gong (Keeper of the Land).
The player takes on the role of Yun, a "rewinder" who has the ability to enter people's memories and influence their actions. By utilizing "senses" and swaying others' "intentions", he can change history. 
At the request of the Spirit Wardens, Yun goes to a small village to investigate why a spirit couldn't be reincarnated. The once thriving village has been deserted and filled with resentful spirits, leaving one woman alone in the teahouse. Who's she waiting for? Where did all the other villagers go? What really happened seven years ago?DLC & expansions

The story was pleasant to go through. The base game had a nice sort of linearity to it where you don't get lost too much. Characters were okay, but felt like their dialogue and personalities could have been a bit more polished. One complaint I'd give is that most of the puzzles feel like they don't serve much of a purpose and instead they're just there to waste some time. I would also say that the DLC Roots of Evil felt comparably worse to the base game. The story wasn't as interesting, you don't get to learn about the characters that much. The DLC also has only a singular memory that branches far too much, making it very annoying to replay and find different solutions. Overall, would recommend getting the base game to go through the story. Would not recommend getting the DLC, it just doesn't feel fulfilling.

Just like call of duty theatre mode... but with rewinds, and Light.
Not a fan of asian mythology and stories, but still enjoyed the game. Interesting 'time altering' mechanic, but feel like it's not used at its full potential.
short and sweet, with gorgeous art. some puzzles are not super well explained (mechanically), but none of them are too difficult. definitely worth playing. the mechanic of fixing past mistakes is very satisfying, the story is very sweet and reminded me of To The Moon in a certain spot - iykyk. It's also worth collecting all the flowers if you care about the story.
Amazing little game! Good puzzles! Localization needs work though ... the names are atrocious
