Vona is a point and click game where the player will perform a Ukrainian housewife’s life and her attempt to “escape” from her house, breaking the daily life loop and obtaining all the Gender Museums' pieces.

The game takes place in a house, where the player has to do the housework: cleaning, cooking, doing the laundry… step by step and in time. But, at the moment when the player does something different (take a relaxing bath, wear too much make-up, drink vodka…), the player will open a museum inside a hole in her kitchen.

There is a lot of housework and the player must do everything before the day ends. This can feel oppressive. If the player doesn’t make perfect, she will run out of time. But, it’s in this imperfection where the player can find more fun and when the player will progress in the game.

VONA / She is an ukrainian-spanish co-production about an Ukrainian housewife’s life attempting to breaking the daily life loop. It raises awareness of the campaign #SaveGenderMuseum. "WHAT IS #SaveGenderMuseum The campaign was launched in 2015 to preserve Ukraine’s first and only gender museum in the post-Soviet space and in Eastern Europe — the Museum of Women’s and Gender History. Back then, back in 2015, the museum worked in a communal apartment. There was a war in the country. Prices for utility services were rising, so there was a threat of closing the museum. And only thanks to the #SaveGenderMuseum campaign the doors of the museum remain open for visits for three years! Later, in 2018 the Gendermuseum moved to the new big space with seeral big rooms and became a part of the Gender Culture Centre. Today, when there is a war in Ukraine, the support of the Gendermuseum has become relevant again. The #SaveGenderMuseum campaign culminated in creating of the computer game «VONA» under the direction of Daniel Sanchez, head of video game development company Gammera Nest. This company was the sponsor of the Gendermuseum in March 2017." "WHAT IS TH…14 found this helpful
I wanted to like this game. Big fan of Ukraine and all for gender equality, maybe Im just stupid, but I couldnt perform any of those tasks. Couldnt put the cake in the oven, couldnt find any kids to bathe, i could however get dressed up in order to go out, but couldnt find the trash nor the trash can. Opaqueness can be a legit part of a game, but this is too much!5 found this helpful

I understand what this is attempting to show, but it's ridiculously heavy-handed. "I should make breakfast for the children" is your first thought... The only suitable meal available in that timeframe is cake. This is not a breakfast food! Okay, it's cooking, let's go get the kids ready for school... Um... Kids? There are no children that I can find, nor even a room for them to have been in. This is a slight obstacle! And then, just like that, your day's over; yes, there was a timer and you didn't notice, and for some reason nobody else in the house noticed they didn't get woken up or fed or anything either. No. "A woman's work" may be thankless, but she doesn't get ignored *that* much! Scene changes take far too long in a timed game in a very small setting. Fullscreen is forced, although standard Unity pre-launch codes will stop that from happening if you're one of those people that likes multitasking on your modern computer (this is an over 30-year old technology, people!) in the end, you get what you've "paid" for - an advertisement for the museum. Just don't expect it to be logical.
