About War Commander

War Commander is a large-scale MMO RTS set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players take the role of the Commander in an effort to push back the forces of chaos and destruction and attempt to rebuild. Welcome to the apocalypse, Commander.
The air is thick with the fog of war, and the horizon crawls with hostile factions hungry for control. Yet this small plot of land is ours to defend and expand. Daily Targets, Weekly Missions, and Monthly Events ensure there’s always a new challenge to tackle, rewarding quick thinking and decisive action. In this world, hesitation is fatal. The weak are eaten; the strong rewrite history and forge empires from ruin.

From humble beginnings, watch your base evolve from a modest military outpost into a heavily fortified citadel capable of withstanding the most brutal of assaults. Manage resource production to keep your war machine running, invest in research institutions to unlock cutting‑edge technology, and expand your military infrastructure to support larger, deadlier forces. Your base is more than a cluster of buildings, it’s your lifeline in a wasteland that wants you dead. Customize your base and make it your own while protecting it from all who would challenge you.

Study the World Map to survey all the hostile targets scattered across your Sector. Each one represents a rogue base, enemy encampment, or fortified threat waiting to be dismantled. Clearing these targets grants valuable rewards, resources, and opportunities to strengthen your forces. Deploy your platoons strategically and strike fast. In this world, if you don’t take the shot, someone else will.

Daily and Weekly Missions provide a steady stream of objectives designed to test your skills and reward your efforts. Whether you’re destroying enemy bases, upgrading your forces, or gathering resources, each completed task brings you closer to major payouts and long‑term progression. These missions keep your war effort moving forward and offer a clear path toward building a stronger, more capable army.

Each month introduces new units to recruit, experiment with, and master. Upgrading your troops unlocks their full combat potential, transforming basic soldiers and vehicles into elite battlefield assets. Equip them with powerful tech components to modify their behavior, enhance their strengths, and tailor them to your preferred playstyle. With the right upgrades, even a modest platoon can become a devastating force capable of turning the tide of battle.

The Sector is never safe for long. New threats emerge every month, bringing fresh Operations packed with multi‑stage challenges and high‑stakes encounters. These events demand strategic unit selection, tactical precision, and careful planning to overcome. Completing Operations rewards you with the latest units, tech, and upgrade materials.  All are essential tools for staying competitive in an ever‑evolving warzone. Dive into each monthly event and prove your worth on the battlefield.

If mere survival isn’t enough, take the fight directly to other Commanders. Launch assaults on rival platoons, raid their bases, and assert your dominance across the Sector. Every victory strengthens your reputation and secures your place among the elite. But remember, every attack invites retaliation. Other Commanders are watching, waiting, and eager to strike back. Only the most cunning and ruthless will rise to the top.

this game use to be good back in the day now its become a slop with Pay to win and events each week requiring you spend money on the game. At high level game play of this game people use scripts to do placement of troops and "boost hacks" that ruin the game, This issue has been going on for years (kixeye and fb version) and they have done very little about it. Players who spend a certain amount on this game get unbanned when they get caught. I use to love this game back in the game before it became pure event grind each week (its how they make there money) each week new unit comes out that you need to max out or you get ruined in pvp (half the time the unit is crap at pvp so youve spent your money for no reason

(I have this on FB, wanted to try this on Steam, I originally played this game circa 2011 - 2014 and off and on thereafter, yes the old game had many faults, but please KIXEYE consider this review from an honest fan / customer of yours for years) First off - Crashes frequently - already had 4 in the first hour Second off - This is a PC game that makes you wait in real world days for upgrades Third Off - Feature creep to the extreme, serious bloat Starting out fresh, you'll spend your first 1hr of the game just upgrading stuff to tier ~ 20 cause there is some serious inflation / feature creep in this game. The second hour, you'll spend just trying to figure out what all these new things do and its not like there is any easing into it, you just get handed the keys to a kingdom and gotta figure it out. So basically there is no early game progression anymore, hasn't been since 2015. Its just, late and really late game. Gameplay wise, well, I don't know what to say, its no classic RTS, anymore*. Sure there's strategy, but meh. If you wanted a futuristic RTS with base building, just pick any from the long list. If you wanna play this game, you'd have to be a fan of this …

I've been playing this game for about 10 years through its different versions, and after the first week of release I've already put in 41 hours. That alone should say how much fun I'm having. The gameplay loop is addicting. Experimenting with different builds, finding strategies that work, and competing in PvP is genuinely enjoyable. The community is exactly what you'd expect from a competitive game. Your teammates and friends can make the experience amazing, while your opponents will sometimes make you question humanity. That's just part of the fun. My biggest concern is the progression economy. Right now, gold costs for upgrades are very high. Units also become outdated quickly, which means you're constantly spending resources just to keep up. As a result, PvP starts feeling less about who has the better strategy and more about who has invested the most money or has an enormous amount of free time to grind. Ironically, I think lowering upgrade costs would make PvP more rewarding. Players would be able to experiment with different builds instead of feeling locked into one because of the investment required. Winning would feel like it came from making smart decisions ra…
