War of the Wormholes: Janitor Duty

Alright. [i]War of the Wormholes: Duty is duty[/i] is done and dusted. This is a point & click adventure that embraces the silly side of the genre and is presented in a fairly old school manner. I got stuck a couple times and even so, this adventure weighed in at a little under three hours for me. Now, despite having a bit of an old school comedy PnC aesthetic, the UI for this game is clean and simple. Rather than trying to mix and match items, dragging them onto other stuff and such; this game instead has you simply highlight the item in your inventory. If it can be used with something on screen, it happens automatically when clicking on the onscreen item. And you aren't required to hold/drag to combine inventory items. In this point-and-click adventure game, you step into the galactic work boots of a mop-wielder stationed at a dilapidated fast food joint orbiting on a chunk of space rock. From the very beginning, you're greeted with a scene of grimy floors, walls coated in suspicious stains, scampering space rats, and grotesquely mutated burgers. While your boss stays conveniently glued behind the counter, it's up to you to keep this cosmic dump from falling apart. Just as the mundane rhythm of cleaning spills starts to settle in, things take an unexpected turn. A spaceship docks at the establishment, and you're miraculously offered a better gig: janitor aboard a more respectable ship. For a brief moment, things are looking up. Unfortunately, that dream is short-lived. A pair of hapless engineers fumble around in the control room and manage to accidentally release a bunch of prisoners. Now you need to clean up this mess. One of the standout features of this game is the surprising depth of its world-building. Planets and alien species aren't just decorative nonsense. What am amazing game! I thoroughly enjoyed being simultaneously dumbfounded and mystified by the many fascinating and thought-provoking puzzles it to offer. The point and click mechanism, the SEGA graphics, the wack storyline; ahh they took me back to the good old childhood days. A+ on all fronts - Music, graphics and story check all the boxes! If a genie granted me a wish, I would ask for erasing my memory of War of the Wormholes simply so I could experience playing this wonderfully brilliant game once again the first time. :)

I enjoyed the simple graphics and Point-and-Click gameplay in "War of the Wormholes." The style is reminiscent of the old Sierra games with little notes of humor spread about while looking for clues. There are two more episodes slated to be released and I will be playing them for sure!

Really fun little game - I love the retro style and the overall chaotic and silly story and puzzles. Looking forward to seeing more from these guys!
