This "early access" build feels more like a highschool project with SEVERAL ISSUES that made me stop playing not even 10 minutes in. The voices made me cringe so hard I couldn't proceed further. CONS: - UI is unintuitive with unclear direction. - Dialogue, potentially uses AI, contains so much bloat that doesnt make sense even if you were trying to make a backstory for the characters. - Character art is unfitting for the genre and style of the sci-fi theme of the game. - AI voices which irks me as it their tone/style do not match the game setting/environment at all. - No option sliders for audio?? You just toggle that specific option for BGM, voices, sfx, etc ON or OFF. - It's just plain AI slop. PROS: - Literally only thing would be the design of the buildings and the units you control. Not the unit's AI portraits.

An RTS game with the theme of interstellar war, features highly distinctive fighter designs, along with a unique loading interface and unit overview. Fans of War Machines should not miss it. Currently in Early Access (EA), the game has the following issues: Enemy and allied units are not easily distinguishable. The build/recruitment process could benefit from a progress bar. The fighter's shooting animation is too long. The UI needs further optimization. Hopefully, these aspects will be improved in future updates.

I heard that Between Life and Death is a spiritual sequel crafted by one of China's earliest RTS development teams. The gameplay focuses on unlocking new technologies and equipment through progressing story levels. However, the tutorial feels a bit tedious. The excessive text and mandatory voiceovers can make the experience somewhat dry. Thankfully, the core content of the game is quite engaging. The game blends a rich Chinese sci-fi style with an interstellar warfare setting, immediately immersing you in a world of cutting-edge technology and intense, adrenaline-pumping combat. The first two levels are relatively simple, and you can clear them even without a precise strategy. But by the third level, the difficulty ramps up significantly. Resource management becomes crucial—if you run out of resources, you’ll find yourself stuck. All in all, I’m enjoying the game so far and plan to dive deeper into some guides for a more thorough exploration.

Dont bother trying to get apes or bazooka turrets to work, the projectile seem fked and explode as soon as they leave the tube. Rats only work on turrets. Some cool stuff but all very janked, the whole game is AI generated graphics and voice sooooo yeah. Dont expect a smooth ride, difficultly spikes and the jank make you have to think outside the box just getting thru the tutorial missions

NOT RECOMMENDED [olist] [*] Unresponsive developers in Steam discussions. [*] No settings for graphics. [*] Other available settings very limited. [*] Damn annoying sounds and repetitive sound on every hover or click on U.I. elements. [*] Voice acting not good. [*] Some text are extremely small, regardless of the U.I. scaling option. It is not linked/affected by the U.I. scaling. Some text are unreadable. It's white text with a light blue "shadow". [*] Attaching items does not seem to be working very well. [*] Base movement "feels" strange. [*] Too much happening on screen at the same time, e.g. instructions, tasks, rewards, and the tutorial graphics are all at the same time and the add then combat for good measure. It's a visual mess. [/olist] More issues could be added further along the game but I'll just keep this as short as possible. The images and videos on the Steam page made me exited to purchase the game, but my first impressions was not satisfactory. I will decide if I will spend more time on this but I lean towards a refund.
