✦ AI summary
Waspkeeper is a straightforward arcade survival game with responsive controls and an accessible pick-up-and-play loop that appeals to fans of roguelite bullet-hells. However, players note the experience grows stale quickly, lacks difficulty balance once you adapt to the mechanics, and suffers from unclear powerup descriptions and an aggressively loud sound design that detracts from enjoyment.

Waspkeeper by LGV is a compact survival-focused roguelite that leans into immediacy and repetition, offering a stripped-down experience built around dodging swarms and staying alive for as long as possible. It wastes no time establishing its core idea: the player is dropped into a confined arena where waves of hostile wasps continuously spawn, gradually increasing in number and aggression. There is no narrative framing or world-building to speak of, as the game is entirely centered on its gameplay loop, presenting itself more as an arcade challenge than a traditional progression-driven title. The mechanics are intentionally simple, making the game easy to pick up within minutes. Movement is fluid and responsive, which is essential given how quickly the arena becomes crowded with enemies. Combat is largely automated, with attacks triggering without the need for constant input, while a secondary ability provides a small degree of active control. This design encourages players to focus more on positioning and movement rather than aiming or timing individual strikes. While this approach keeps the experience accessible, it also limits how expressive the gameplay can become. Most runs p…1 found this helpful

Game was alright it doesn't really tell you what any of the powerups do but if you have basic pattern recognition you should be good. Also turn down your volume if you plan on hitting the spacebar because the death sound effect stacks and man is it loud. Get it on sale is my advice, since it gets pretty stale pretty fast and once you get past the projectile hell section it becomes ridiculously easy. W game thank you beetle of doom and disappointing farts.
7/10 just run and shoot. cool vibe tho
