Overcooked, but witches 🐈‍⬛🧹

It is a fun coop game. I have enjoyed the difficulty as the map progressed, especially the bonus stage!!

Fun Plate Up style gameplay, but with a few interesting additional mechanics. Really good co-op

When it comes to couch coop games and teams that try to replicate the gameplay of Overcooked, imo one of the most important aspects that decide whether it's a good adaptation of genre or not, is in a way the difficulty is scaling as you progress through levels. It is often tough to add difficulty without introducing mechanics that are straight up just annoyance rather than something that needs to be planned around and adapted. And Witchtastic is the example of the annoyance mechanical designs. While i do enjoy the game and gameplay in the early levels, the mechanics that are introduced after like half of the levels are turning a fun game into more of a grind and unfun slow-downs of the pace. Probably the most notable example of this are ghosts - they are hostile creatures roaming some fixed areas introduced in later levels, always in groups of at least 2 or 3+. They are however not there just to get in the way, they need to be stunned and 'collected' as ingredient. As you can only stun one at a time (and you usually cant even tell which one is going to be stunned), others can touch you while youre interacting with the stunned one, which usually means you have to restart whole proc…

After playing and spectating 'Let's cook together' and having a blast, I found this on special and gave it a run. The kids didn't like it at all, and I also thought it was crap. Uninstalled and have just found it collecting dust in my games list. Now hiding from the list so I don't have remember again just how disappointed we all were. So disappointed that I'm writing this review in the hope others don't go down the rabbit hole of cooking games that claim to be fun but aren't. Six thumbs down from this family.

Great fun and, while it does include a lot of yelling and whooping, is somehow FAR less likely to ruin friendships than similar cooking based titles
