Wobbly Heights

Lucky me once more has the dubious honour of being the first to write a review for a Lannon game, this time "Wobbly Heights". Wobbly Heights is a novel, if boring concept, delivered badly. It's essentially a hybrid of a block stacking/2D physics game and an incrementer... you collect currency as you go and you can use this to affect the blocks you're stacking. At no point did the developer consider whether it was a good, enjoyable idea. Having said that, this may have done well on the mobile app stores if it was a professionally produced, well polished game. This is not a professionally produced, well polished game. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. super interesting little concept. fun for a little bit but I got bored quite fast. but still, if you like high stress games, this one is pretty good.
