What Steam players say

Wooden Floor is a budget-friendly indie horror game that succeeds with atmospheric tension and solid visual presentation, running well even on older systems, though it suffers from a lack of meaningful gameplay and story depth that makes the brief experience feel more like an empty walking simulator than a fully realized game. Players appreciate its focus on atmosphere over jump scares and acknowledge it as worth trying at its low price point, but most find it too short and lacking in engaging mechanics or narrative substance to warrant a strong recommendation.
I reckon it needs more wooden floors. Maybe I would enjoy it more.7 found this helpful
The more horror games you play, the harder it gets to review them. You're never quite sure whether you have seen the most boring and quickly put in Unity engine or similar, or not. Well, I admit I've seen worse, but it's still a bad game without gameplay. It's not a good walking simulator either, as it lacks a story and anything that would make me actually want to walk further.2 found this helpful
You can search through Steam (or any other platforms) for horror games and it’s a hit or miss. Wooden Floor I would classify as something you can get to play. Luckily enough it’s more of a my type of horror game, so it’s focus is on the atmosphere and the surroundings that build up the tension instead of annoying jump scares. Visually the game is good, it runs well (run decently even on my old old setup a few years ago) and most importantly has well-built atmosphere. Plus it’s CHEAP! All in all – for an indie horror I’d say it’s worth giving it a try. And so is the sequel. Played Wooden Floor on YouTube as well a few years ago (on the mentioned old setup).
